Things you've discovered on Note 8?

Does this only work for calls, or messaging apps as well, and does the phone need to be face down, or will it also work when the phone is face up, on the table but the screen is off (AOD is on ?
Thanks

I downloaded this from the play store and it either works better than stock edge lighting or it gave the stock a boost, it works pretty good and you can set it up to work on calls too.

There are several to choose from but I like this one the best.

I want to use magnification gesture to triple tap on the screen to magnify but a popup says it will disable many features. Why did Samsung do it this way? It worked perfect on my note 4 and did not disable anything already enabled.

Ok I know this is for what you've found but I figured maybe post this here rather than make a new thread. Is there a way to customize who and what comes up on the share screen that you get to once you've used the s pen to smart select and than select share?

I discovered that OK Google will not work if the phone is locked or AOD is on. But, of course, Bixby will wake up and unlock the phone. I really want to be able to shout across the room, OK Google, and ask a question. But it won't ever unlock the phone and be ready for a question.

Check your settings. You should be able to do this.

Maybe it's a carrier thing? Or a lock screen on thing? With the phone locked and the AOD screen on, when I say, "Ok, Google" I hear the beep but the screen stays on AOD and I can do nothing with it. For those that claim to be able to use the OK Google feature with AOD, please chime in on your carrier and if you have a lock screen in place.

My screen is locked. Sprint phone. Make sure you have Trusted Voice turned on in the Ok Google settings.

I'm on Sprint and I don't have trusted voice anywhere. Not in ok Google settings nor in the Google settings, or in settings period.

I just discovered a Toyota Prius can go 90 MPH! Holy Crap she/he just fly by me on the freeway last night!

I'm on Verizon and I have all those settings turned on but it still will not unlock the phone. I hear the Ok Google beep but it stays on AOD. Maybe it's a Verizon thing. Btw, I only use fingerprint to unlock. Nothing else is set, except the PIN of course.

I have the same issue and I'm also on Verizon. I would really like to get this working, I just don't know how to fix it.

Better to just put a Magnifyer shortcut on your desktop
