I just discovered in the last few days, that tapping the recent apps button and then closing all, increases battery life dramatically. I've been doing this without fail, after using my phone to catch up on emails and browse forums, etc. Battery life is fantastic now and it wasn't bad before.

Thatis an awesome feature.Bixby saves you money. Kids R Us and Toys R Us price match. I was in Kids R Us yesterday and scanned a couple of items using Bixby. Saved almost 20 bucks on two items. I like saving.
Good thing is, there are a lot of perks for using the Note 8 that may take the sting from your wallet. Samsung Pay Rewards is awesome. You can earn very nice gifts just from using the phone. I'm working toward the Samsung Gear VR for the Note8. It retails for $129. When you combine that with the 128 GB sd- card and fast wireless charger, the phone itself isn't really that expensive.I've discovered that I'm broke after purchasing the Note 8.![]()
Thanks for the info! I have never even tried to setup the finger print scanner because I had tried it on my N4 and never did even get it to work properly. I've been using the iris and PIN up until I read your post. Not having to even touch any buttons or even look at the screen when using the finger print scanner, made me decide to set it up. It's pretty slick!! That's now going to be my default unlock method going forward. The less button presses, the better, IMO.Not sure if this was mentioned, so sorry if it's been discussed.....
I have found that the fingerprint sensor will fully unlock the phone and skip the lock screen.
Basically, you can go from screen off to home screen very fast. I also like it because it's less use on hardware buttons that can wear out.

Pretty common knowledge but never hurts to repeat for those that were not aware. I use this method exclusively as well. Works fast and slick. There's also an app called Fingerprint Gestures that you can use to add more functionality to the fingerprint scanner. Like double tapping or swiping down. I use the swipe down to activate my flashlight. convenient when you use your phone's screen to light something up but it's not enough - just swipe down the fingerprint scanner and flashlight comes on! Many other choices. Note that the phone has to be not locked for the alternate fingerprint scanner options to function.
Thanks. I'll check that app out.
