Things you've discovered on Note 8?

All my Sprint phones from HTC to 7 Edge and now the Note 8 have FM radio and I use Next Radio all the time. I have a cable where one end goes into the headphone jack and the other my speaker so I don't have to wear the earbuds. Comes in handy when needing real time live radio to win stuff LOL! Just got my Note 8 last week so I am behind and reading post from Sept. Always said I would never get a note that it was to big and wouldn't use the pen but the extra ram and camera was our choice to get them. Me and my husband love our phones. And I am just now finding out more stuff it does. I too am used to the home button double click but now I just say Bixby open camera. LOL!
Turn off all your data and tell me if your Radio still works. There is no AM or FM receiver circuitry in these units.

If I turn off my data and the radio app still works. However, if I turn on Airplane mode the radio app doesn't work.

Sorry, but you're wrong. There is an FM receiver built-in to the Note 8. It is detected and used by the NextRadio app. The app allows you to set "FM only" mode to prevent streaming.

In case you don't understand what she's talking about right above me here are some pics...

If you minimize that pop-up screen, you get a floating icon that stays on top not just on the home screen, but whatever you do. I have used that on several Notes.

What I just accidentally found out is that you can open multiple pop-up windows at a time, and as you minimize them, they all go into the same floating icon folder. You can open one or all of them at the same time.

When finished, you can drag one app (floating icon) at a time to the Remove button, close each app, or drag the floating icon/folder with all its apps to Remove.

I also haven't found a limit as to how many pop-up windows you can have open at once. The most I've had so far is six.

That's probably only because "Airplane Mode" shuts off ANY kind of transmit/receive signal to/from the phone, including FM! leerandall is correct, there is an FM chip in the Note 8 and it is enabled!

Thanks for the info re: airplane mode. Yes, I agree there is an enabled FM chip. Use my radio app lots when dog walking and have my ear bud wire cut off hanging out so I have my transister radio for me and dogs to listens to lol.

Why not just stream? I tried the FM chip and reception was poor, so I just stream now and works perfect.

The FM radio will work when the cellular network is unavailable (out of range, down, on fire).

There has been much more interest in this feature since the fires last month in California. Many cellular towers burned early on, leaving large areas without service just when it was needed the most.

If you use Samsung browser you may want to check this in your internet settings-personal. All mine was ON by default.

Holy CRAP Batman... giving away the farm and not knowing it! Thank you for sure!
I'm pretty sure Samsung already has that information from some other source on the device. I doubt that you're blocking them by turning it off in the browser.

Where in the browser settings are you finding this? I don't see it anywhere.
3 dots in upper right- settings- personal information. If you have the switch for customization service off (or paused) like I do on the second screenshot, you don't even need to worry about those settings. To get to the switches shown above, tap on personal information again on the customization service screen.

Open Samsung browser and at the top there are three dots, press 3 dots, scroll down to settings, scroll down and a heading will be personal information. Open that and change the selections.

Don't have that setting on T-Mobile Note 8.

Update : I use Samsung Internet Beta by default so that setting isn't there. I did find it in the normal Samsung Browser.

Anyone else use the VR? I got the one for the Note using my Samsung Rewards points. But I'm not finding a lot to do with it.
