When setting the alarm scroll down to the very bottom of the screen and toggle the button to say the time out loud.
Please explain how to set this up....There are just SO many things I've 'discovered' so far. In the way too cool app category I found (from a YouTube reviewer) an app called Fingerprint Gestures that allows me to use the fingerprint sensor to turn on the flashlight with a double tap! Love this!! Can't tell you how many times I needed to use the flashlight on my last phone (N3) and had to fumble around in the dark to turn the phone on, open the app or widget and turn on the light. Now, double tap the fingerprint sensor and voila - flashlight on! Double tap again and it goes off.

I just got a call from unknown caller and I was able to block itjust got a chance to try call blocking per the instructions offered here. IF the caller is a contact, then and only then can I click to see the details icon to add to call blocking. IF on the other hand, it is a spam call or a wrong number call, no options are offered other than clicking it and then delete. that's all I can do. I have tried everything else. so I am stuck with going to settings and blocking it there. no add contact comes up, no detail icon, nothing other than it selects the contact and the three dots allow me to delete. very, very, very bad for me.
eta - also if I delete the contact accidentally, I can find no way to add it to blocked calls later. a search of settings gives nothing for spam or blocking. anyone know the direct settings path? thank you.

So weird. I'm on Sprint. I have the option to block from the recents list per the instructions you posted.found the direct path in the manual, but the selections in the directions for blocking numbers don't appear on my device, except for going through settings.
From a Home screen, tap Phone >
More options > Settings > Block numbers
I do not have the options below from my recents list
Block a Number
By adding a caller to your Block list, future calls from
this number are sent directly to your voicemail, and
messages are not received.
1. From a Home screen, tap Phone.
2. Tap Recents.
3. Tap the caller you want to add to the Block list.
4. Tap Details > More options > Block number.
Confirm when prompted.
yeah. I'm sure I've po'd either Sprint or Sammy. tracking it down might be fun... at this point it must be some permission I took away that is tied directly to contacts or the phone itself. absolutely not doing a reset unless it actually goes TU at some point. So weird. That little bit of extra width and the slightly less curve in the screen I think gives the keyboard just a little extra room
I use the Google keyboard ( Gboard ) because of that and it's overall better imoNaw its hard for me to type on the note 8 because my thumbs are wide is there a way to make the keyboard more senstive to the touch like a iphone would ?
I do see it. What Carrier are you with? It's funny how each one can be different.right. and I can't. see my post just after yours.
Could just be a setting, not sure what though. I haven't changed anything that I know of. Same theme & launcher as right out of the box.yeah. any chance you're using TW? it might even be the theme, but I doubt it.
eta - I have the options for regular contacts, but not for calls that have just come in if not already in contacts.
WiFi calling is only available on AT&T phones and not the unlocked versions. You can get VVM apps from the play store. That's kind of one thing that I missed from using iPhones but I just learned to live without it on Android.
