So I saw this ad on craigslist and am thinking of purchasing this EVO. I was wondering if this is always fixable and the guy is just a dummy? Sorry for the caps and misspellings in the ad that was him not myself.

FOR SALE $150.00 I HAVE A 4 MONTH OLD HTC EVO 4G THAT COMES WITH WALL CHARGER AND ORIGINAL BATTERY...THIS PHONE WOULD BE GOOD FOR SOMEBODY THAT IS GOOD WITH THE ROOT PROCESS...I TRIED TO ROOT THIS PHONE THE OTHER DAY AND IT TURNS ON NOW BUT WILL NOT LOAD INTO THE ACUALL PROGRAM....IT DOES LOAD INTO THE CLOCKWORKMOD AND THATS WHAT IT WILL NOT GO PASSED...I NO THE PHONE IS STILL GOOD SOMEBODY THAT NOS WHAT THERE DOING WILL BE ABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE...IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME

If the phone loads into clockwork it's very fixable correct? Not bricked? I'm thinking of unrooting the device, taking it to sprint, getting it switched over from my phone and then rooting it. Sorry for the questions, I'm a rooted Hero user and haven't had much experience with the EVO but am looking to upgrade since sprint just edited their premier program into gold and silver divisions so that I will not get a 1 year upgrade in May and will have to wait until my 22nd month :(

I would ask for an ESN # before I bought it. I would be suspicious that it is a stolen phone and the seller is just trying to dump it.

If the story is true and you can get it to boot into clockwork recovery then I think you could fix it.

When buying a second hand phone be cautious. Check the ESN BEFORE y ou buy. Just to make sure that you can get this phone activated. Also use the alternative payment system just in case something gets fishy. As far as the problem with the phone, check out the Roms and Hacks section. There are many talent people in there.
