The battery on this phone is awesome..by that time prices will be a lot lower also. I say definitely go for it.

It should be a better plan, if you get an used one from Ebay

I completely agree. Phones are extremely bad addiction. I have suffered very badly due to this and now in try to get rid of it.

I know , I suffer same lol hopefully I can get a grip in 2019.

Yeh I understand I am tempted buy the Galaxy note 9 but waiting on the S10 series and see what the fuss is about it.

Heck my wife will kill me if I get a new phone because I have changed phones 3 times in 2018 lol.

I usually ask her indirectly you want a new phone when I need one myself . Then I offer her my phone as her upgrade sell her current one to pay towards my new one

Same. I owned most flagship devices last year and it hurt my bank account. I need to get rid of my tech addiction as well, but I don't want to hijack this thread to talk about it.

Getting the Note 9 will be worth it no matter when you get it. It's an awesome device!!! I came from the iPhone X to the Note 9, so I have no experience with the Note 8. My Pastor has one, and absolutely loves it, as I'm sure your Mom would love it too!! That's a great birthday gift! Happy birthday to her!

With a little luck you'll be able to get a BOGO deal on the Note9 in March as S10 versions are already out and Note10 are getting closer and both Samsung and retailers will be eager to clear stock of the 9, then sell your Note 8 to subsidise that purchase

I am keeping my eye out for a discount on the price. So far, I am seeing discounts for trade-ins, or buy one and get free with statement credits or a discount on device payments, which are all good but I prefer to purchase outright. I still have two more months to make something happen.

I am also going to be adding a friend to my plan, so that would be adding a line as well. If I could get the two Note 9s, my mom would have the exact same phone and it would make it super easy to do tech support calls with her.
