Thinking of buying this tablet

This is will be my first tablet....

I have a moto droid maxx so I am familiar with android, running a desktop at home .

How much of a learning curve am I looking at and is this a good idea to supplement my phone and desktop ??

Spend just a little more and get the Note 12.2. What desktop? Windows? I use this tablet at board meetings. Some minor problems saving stuff to the external SD card but there are workarounds. It's an KitKat Issue not a fault of the tablet. Beautiful screen. Able to watch videos loaded onto the External SD card is a big plus. MS is supposed to be working on office programs for this tablet. Battery lasts a long time.
