Put it this way, if I had to today, I'd go out and get another Thunderbolt in a heartbeat! Why? For me, there simply isn't any other LTE phone that has matured as well as the Thunderbolt or one that has the overall feature set, or one that has the overall best physical appearance. Kickstand hands down killer feature! Simultaneous voice and data via 3G or LTE! Good battery life with the Rezound 1620mAh battery. For a single core phone, it is still fast and smooth. And although the screen isn't HD, it's still very crisp, bright and colorful. As to the Rezound, IMO, the back of the phone is just ugly and while the red accents on the front are nice, the capacitive button area is too large, not to mention its overall feature set isn't enough of an improvement over the Thunderbolt. Even though I've had an upgrade available for a while or the fact I could go out and get any phone at full retail with no contract, I'll happily stay with the Thunderbolt until its true successor comes out. :)

Well said. Plus, and it might be my imagination, does anyone else notice that in market comments on many apps is the fact that many have troubles with Nexus? I have had an update available for a month on one line and will have another early next year. Still haven't found the device that wants to make me put this phone down...yet.

Me 2 :D ... Had the Rezound ... not really that much better & is missing FM Radio & has to use OEM batteries .... sent it back :) If you get a good Bionic the screen is much better outside.... sent that back too ... it was a basket case!

Cheers :)

I like my Thunderbolt very much. I got it in June after the reboot issues were fixed. This phone has been very reliable. If you want an awesome phone that works at a great price then get the Thunderbolt. If you want the latest and greatest then get the Rezound or Nexus.
I'm waiting for the Thunderbolt 2. Kick stand for the win!

I have the rezound, the biggest advantage is the hd screen. It is very sharp especially for small text that seem a little blurred on my tb. Of course, this might not be a big issue for some, the tb text wasn't bad in normal size, but when zoomed out a lot, it was a bit blurred. Rezound is slightly faster, imo, my tb was still fast enough. I do like the kick stand on the tb, but honestly, I like the kick stand from my extended battery rezound case better because you can charge while in horizontal mode, which can't be done on the tb.

Overall, I do like the rezound better, but not a huge amount. I got it on sale for$50 on upgrade, and if I sold the bundled headphones, it would be like free on upgrade, so for a free upgrade, i think it is worth it just for the sharper text for me. But if I were to pay $300 on upgrade, i would pass, not worth the added cost.
In the end, if anyone is considering the rezound or gn or whatever, go to the store and try it out. What is good or important for some may not be important for you.

Thanks Bolt Owners, I think after the New Year I will upgrade, I currently Have the INC 2. Any one use the extended battery? or should I buy the rezound battery?

Unless you have no money... and in that case you should not be buying a smartphone... but why not consider the Galaxy Nexus since it is the latest Android device... after all it is the newest dual core LTE device with a great screen, and ICS... at least I would be buying one right now if I had a upgrade available.

I ended up getting a Thunderbolt off eBay. It was cheaper than any phone from Verizon with a 2 year agreement. I get to use a pretty good phone while I contemplate on getting a Nexus or waitingf for something else, and I still have my upgrade available.

If the OP is like me, then the Galaxy Nexus is just a meh... it may be the latest, but I don't care for Samsung hardware nor ICS which looks too much like Touch Wiz (IMO ugly and not very intuitive). Also prefer capacitive buttons, HTC Sense, and native kickstands! No bean bags or after market kickstands need apply! :p

Yeah, the Quad Core, 64GB, 3D, HD, HTC Thunderbolt 2 with slim 1950 mAH battery ;)

I upgraded to this device in August. If I was able to upgrade NOW I still WOULD get this wonderful HTC pureness.
I love it

Thanks Bolt Owners, I think after the New Year I will upgrade, I currently Have the INC 2. Any one use the extended battery? or should I buy the rezound battery?

I have the HTC 2750mAh extended battery, and I think HTC and Verizon made a HUGE mistake selling the device with anything less than at least 2 Ah. If I use the device very heavily, I can still drain it dry in about 6 hours (and I'm not in a 4G coverage area), but for my average day it works just fine. On the stock battery, I really struggled to get through a 12-hour day with it.

I'd run it with the stock battery for about 2 weeks to get a feel for how well it does for you, because your usage will differ from mine (I like running Sensorly, GasBuddy, Google Maps, and other real battery hogs almost constantly, and I have most apps that use data set to low refresh intervals so they pull data often).

Then do the math. The HTC 2750 comes close to doubling your expected battery life, but it really limits the cases you can use. If you are happy with the stock battery or think the Rezound one is good enough, there's a lot to be said for the benefits of sticking to "non-extended-battery" size.

On the other hand, I kinda like the extra heft from the extended battery. My car mount doesn't, though. The phone is now too big and too heavy for everything I've found so far.

The Thunderbolt is actually a very nice phone; despite the fact that I'm jumping to a Galaxy Nexus soon, I wouldn't say it's because I disliked the Thunderbolt at all. It's just, the Nexus was my first choice for a smartphone, but there wasn't one on Verizon at the time, so I went with the first 4G phone. Now that Verizon has a Nexus, though, I couldn't resist.

Rezound still doesn't have an unlocked bootloader (unless it happened recently). I personally won't buy a phone until I'm sure that I can root it and unlock the bootloader.
