Thinking of Getting a Bolt...

Here are my thoughts :
I waited for the bolt to be released for what seamed like forever. I got it and struggled through the bugs that any phone that was breaking new ground would have gone through. I held tight to my original device when everyone else was needlessly returning them for refurbished models when in fact, it was merely a software issue rebooting their system. After a few months I had the phone I wanted from the beginning.
I had been wanting to root for a while, but as a novice to all things android I was scared. Then a few weeks ago I dropped my phone pretty bad and got a warranty replacement. Fedex dropped off the new one and I rooted with Revolutionary, easy even for a rootard like me. I flashed a few ROMs and then found Infected, ETERNITY is sweet and the support is amazing. I Fell in love with my bolt all over again! My wife was going to get me a Nexus for Christmas, but I turned it down. Nothing against the nexus, but I haven't outgrown what my new infected bolt can offer.

Dude, get a bolt!

Tbolt still kicks ass. I signed up day 1 with this phone and never had issues. Any little annoyances have been resolved with updates so its great. I'd get the Rezound battery though. I think its worth the 20 bucks (if that deal is still on). Try it and see if it works for your usage. It seems to give me quite a bit more juice than the original battery. More than the "battery hours math" would suggest. I have extended battery too which is hands down awesome. And like most say it feels good in your hand and the more than double battery juice made getting to know and love this phone possible. Size never was an issue with me. Unless you're a guy wearing skinny jeans in which case maybe the new HTC Rhyme is more fit for you. ;-) Also I use a Grip-it car dock that totally fits an extended battery and case just fine. Love it.

I had a one year contract so I'm eligible now to upgrade but I see no need. Its tempting but once the doorbuster urge wears off after every new phone that comes out I become more content. One day I'll switch but I don't NEED a feature that any new phone has that the TBolt doesn't. Now that being said, if its a new 2 year contract I'd probably get a Rezound when some big after Christmas sale hits like the $50 Black Friday sale as its a bit more future proof (ICS). Especially if u don't root like many do. But I'd miss my kickstand. Ha! I really would. So underrated. Maybe get a Tbolt off eBay like someone else mentioned. Lots will be selling now with the GNex out. Then you are not stuck for two years. But even if you were you'd have a great phone with a great support community here to help you when you get that "itch" to leave.

OK OK OK !!! You guys convinced me, I can get a Bolt on Amazon for $99 so i will definately do this i will try the rezound battery, and not sure which case yet, Ant suggestions i am an otterbox fan but it any one can recommend something cheaper or better please do, I see this forum is really active too. My first android phone was the INC and I bought tthe INC2 a year later( because the sales rep said no 4G in my area until 2012 which was total B.S.). I was given a Motorola X2 which was a total P.O.S. I was given an INC2 again which is so much better! I also want to root my phone and this one seems to have alot of support. Thank you for all your input it seems people are happy with their Bolts (those who stuck it out). I will post when I get it(next week).

I love Seidio's Active cases. I have one for my extended and regular batteries. Its not too thick but provides good protection yet its easy to take on/off if need be.

I have seidio's convert case for my extended battery and recently grabbed a rezound battery and an otter box bother cases are nice and the otter box was only $25 with free shipping on ebay. I will still use the extended battery and case when I travel, but for everyday use the rezound battery is great. If you want get your new bolt, check the version and hopefully it is not running the new update, root with Revolutionary and have fun.

I don't recommend getting 3rd party batteries. They are subpar and really don't work any better. Use manufacturer batteries. Same with chargers.

Well, as I said, I've been using mine since April, and their performance has been equal to my original bolt battery. I've had no performance issues whatsoever.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Tbolt!!! even with the stock battery, I get "decent" battery life. I haven't even rooted (yet) and I still love the phone. it does EVERYTHING I want/need it to do, and I didn't have to pay through the nose to own it. as far as cases, I have Trident Cyclops case, but will occasionally drop down to a regular silicone skin...easier in/out of pockets, as the Trident cases are HUGE. I use fancy widgets, beautiful widgets, and GO weather for my clock/weather home page...I think I change them every other day. go for it, you won't be sorry!!!

Its ordered! Along with a seido case and a rezound battery. Thanks for all your help!

+1 on Jude's comment.

I bought a 3rd party one from eBay...$18 with the cover and all....great deal right?......wrong. It killed my signal to the point the only way I could get a radio signal was to remove the battery cover.

As soon as I put my old stock battery and case back on....no problem.

I would definately stick to OEM verizon batteries.
