Long time Sprint customer here thinking of making the change to AT&T. I do not currently have a contract on Sprint and do not want one with AT&T.

I contacted AT&T to see if I purchased a phone on Ebay or Craigslist like I do with Sprint would they allow me to go month to month. The lady was very nice and said yes and no. She went on to say on AT&T post pay network NO you can not do that, but you can go to Walmart and buy the cheapest go phone with simcard welcome kit activate it then place the Simcard in the phone you go off ebay or craigslist and you will be good to go with no contract on the $50.00 unlimited plan which included Android only no Iphones or blackberries.

My question that I forgot to ask here and when I went to call back they were already closed for the evening is if I get the Motorola Atrix phone and place my go phone simcard in it will be able to use the 4G HSPD+ or whatever they call it or will it be 3G or EDGE only?

I do not want to spend the 350 on ebay for a phone if I can not use the 4G or HSPD+ so does anyone know if it will work of the go phone side of it is locked down on only use the older slower network?

Thanks.

Just so you no
The Atrix and the Photon are the same phone.
If you goto Best Buys website right now the Attrix is $49 and the Photon is $99

When I replaced my BB with my Atrix, I was given a new SIM card.

That still doesn't answer my question I was asking if I go prepaid will the 4G and HSPD+ or whatever it is called work or is prepaid 3G and Edge only?
