Thinking of rooting your Thunderbolt?

The article looks to only be one day old?

But anyways sorry if it is a double post.

Its not suprising they are working on those items due to all the Forums talking about getting free services and such from rooting.

I'm an utter n00b, so I can't speak to how/when **** might hit the fan, but Verizon cares about making money. Nothing more, nothing less. They want oligopoly pricing power and highest speed for the most users with the least infrastructure.

They aren't going to brick your phone to spite you, not when you're paying real money for data or SMS that costs them $0.000001 cents to produce. If you aren't sucking down 20gb a month they won't care. This is all about handset subsidy and non-subscribed tethering. Don't mod past the point of un-modding and you'll be fine. Their network, their rules. If you're willing to bend over, they be willing to give you "service".

There were rumors flying about how the new iPhone OS led to un-authorized tetherers receiving texts about their activity. The text said that tethering was detecting and that it would be charged automatically if detected again. This outcome seems likely - to the extent that Android supports it (again I'm a n00b). It's best business practice. You can crack skulls without making a scene.
