Thinking of switching ROMs

Been running uncommon sense for about a month now and its been a great Rom thus far, but I'm getting bored having a sense Rom. I'm thinking of switching over to CM7 to see what all the hub bub (can't believe I just said that) is about and check out Android 2.3.

My question is about my apps, I have used Titanium Backup to backup all my user installed apps. My question is once I do a full wipe and flash CM7 and reinstall TB how does it know what apps I backed up? I just don't want to try to remember the 30+ apps I've installed and customized or have game saves that I don't wish to lose. Second part of the question when TB does a backup and when I do a restore it re-downloads the app correct? It doesn't save a copy on the phone or SD card, reason I ask this part of the question is running up my data?

I was just doing some reading on sense and vanilla ROMs and came across another question I have. From what I read (which could just be BS please let me know) the stock radio 2.15.00.07.28 is a battery hog on vanilla ROMs just want to get some feed back on this please.

Another question is, how the heck do I find out which type of screen I have with my Incredible and does it make a difference on anything which screen I have?

Titanium will back up the app and your data for that app. When you restore you have a choice to restore App + data or just data. When you re-download Titanium after installing a new ROM, it will read it's data directory on the SD card and show what is backed up.

DO NOT RESTORE SYSTEM DATA!!!!

App Brain is a good app to remember what you downloaded from the market for free. It's Web and Phone based.

I'm running CM7 and have never upgraded my Radio from the latest Stock OTA Radio. You should be fine.

AMOLED vs. SLCD is not an issue with CM7, but if you are upgrading your Clockwork Recovery, upgrade to the 3.0.0.8 version, the other 3.x versions have some SLCD issues.

Hope this helps.

I installed CM7RC2 and quickly discovered it was a huge battery hog, but I also did not upgrade my radio either. After about 2 hours of light to moderate use, my fully charged 1800mah battery was at 50%. I re-wiped and restored the stock 2.2 backup.

Weird. I am running CM7RC2 with very good battery stats. 16hr 14m of pretty heavy use (Although I was sleeping for 7 of those hours). I'm at 23% battery right now.

I get anywhere from 9-18 hrs on the stock 1300 battery running cm7 nightlies #12, 13, or 14, depending on my usage, if i'm at work or not, and if i've been looking at the screen all day.

I'd say battery life is no worse than stock, probably better though its hard to tell on the first day cause you spend so much time tweaking, re-tweaking, and trying out all the customizations.

I came from Virtuous 3.2 and tried CM7 RC1 and didn't really get into it. Went back to Virutous but I'm now on CM7 RC2 and really enjoying it.

When you go into Titanium, rather than doing a batch restore you can see the apps by name that have been backed up, you can then select them one at a time and restore app or app+data. I did them in a batch and restored app+data, not system data but the app data. CM didnt jive with it as I then started having lock-ups, i couldn't even turn it off. Pulled battery, rebooted into CWM, wiped data, cache and Dalvic and went for it again. This time restored apps one by one and only restored the app data that I really didn't want to re-enter like CardStar and its been working 4.0 all day.

Gotta say I'm really enjoying it so far and I was/am a fan of Sense.

Only thing I really want is a batter indicator with percentage as well like the smooth circle indicator from Virtuous.

@ wanda - i have the circle batter widget which is free in the market. its in the upper right corner

@wanda - did you try the built in Batt % gauge - it's on these screen shots.

Thanks zeroneck and Pville. Thats the only real problem with this ROM...TOO MANY OPTIONS!! LOL! Didn't even know it had its own built in % meter.

On an unrelated note Pville, did you see they revealed the Stig's identity? Well one of them anyway. I didn't know it but they have been through several over the years, kinda like Lassie's only the other Stigs aren't buried in the back yard...I hope.

Layers within layers - CM7 is like a Russian Doll!

Yeah, they had Michael Schumacher on pretending to be The Stig. It was a big deal but with the F1 sked he did, there was no way he could have been The Stig. One was fired for revealing himself. The Original got a gig in a good series and they "killed" him by having him drive off a Harrier Ramp on an Aircraft Carrier.

I love the Stig Farm video on their web site - it cracks me up.
