Thinnest Battery Mod

Never mind... Just realized that is only the shell with wireless charging capability. Sorry.

Well that's annoying. I bought the Incipio because I'd given up on this Moto-branded charger business. The questionably advertised Turbo Power Pack is thick as Hell, but then word of this one drops...and maybe IT'S the one they were talking about back in February at the MWC? I don't get the marketing strategy here.

2220 mAh vs 3500 mAh.

Update: just received the new Moto Power pack (2200 mAh) in the mail from Best Buy. It is indeed 2.5oz as they stated, making it a full 1/2oz lighter (14g) than the Incipio non-wireless battery mod. So this is the thinnest and lightest battery mod on the market right now. And it has a real nice feel to the back. I'm impressed!

Comparison pics?

I know it's a bit hard to see, but the Moto battery mod is thinner. And as I said, 1/2 ounce lighter. May not seem like a lot, but you'll feel the difference.

nice! Thanks for the comparison!

Great comparison photos. I wouldn't mind getting one if it goes on a good sale. I have the large Mophie pack.

Thanks for this. Despite the fact I literally *just* got the Incipio battery pack, I ordered this for pick up at best buy anyway. $39.99 plus tax??? Great price compared to what Incipio charges for theirs. I'll use both for a few days and see which one I want to send back. I like the Incipio , but if I can get the same performance out of something with less and that's lighter for half the price, then obviously it's worth it.

I paid $49.95 + tax on Best Buy website. If you paid $79 for the Incipio, then you have the wireless charging version. Be advised the Moto battery mod does not have wireless charging. And if you didn't need wireless charging to start with then by all means return it as it's more expensive and heavier than their non-wireless version.

That's odd because I contacted Incipio through Amazon about the item to confirm I was getting the one I wanted, and they told me my order was NOT the wireless charging version. This is the item in question... you're certain of your claim here?

If you paid $79.99 ... at Best Buy

No, I just checked on Incipio's site and I stand corrected. It is $79.99 and the wireless one is $10 more. When I purchased it from Incipio a while back it was only $49. 99. I guess they upped the price....

So that still leaves me wondering why pay that much for the Incipio when Best Buy is selling the same 2200 mAh (by Moto) on sale for $39.99. Thinner, lighter, and half the price.

Edit: also see that Best Buy has the Incipio on sale as well for $63.99. But I've never known Best Buy to sell the non-wireless version no matter what they say on their site, so my guess is this is wireless.

Yeah either way the Incipio is going back. Had I known the new external Power pack from Moto was about to drop I would have waited. This thing is just terrific. It's not "bulk free" but it's about as close as you can realistically come to it I suppose.

AFAIK, Best Buy only ever stocked the wireless version.
