Third Party Retailers Question(s)

Hey all,
After seeing the leaked screen shot of the Verizon road map we "should" expect to see the bionic on 9/8. Here is my predicament. I have a BB Storm 2 (can't wait to get rid of it) that has more-or-less bit the dust. I am eligible for an upgrade, but want to wait till the Bionic gets released (both where I live and where I will be going to grad school are in LTE coverage). I have a $50 gift card to Best Buy and am thinking about just upgrading to a droid (thinking: dX2, dinc2, d3) to tide me over till the Bionic gets released. So my questions are:
Can we expect to see the Bionic in third party retailers (i.e. Best Buy) around the 9/8 release date/maybe a week later?
I see that Best Buy has a 30-day return policy on mobile devices, so I am thinking about waiting another week to upgrade and then returning it for the Bionic if/when it gets released, good or bad idea?
Thoughts/Insights/Comments are all welcome.

Something similar was discussed in another thread. Also note that Best Buy's policy also states:

If you are returning a mobile phone or device with a plan, Best Buy is not responsible for carrier charges incurred after the carrier's cancellation period. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your plan to verify the carrier conditions.

My advice in the other thread, which I'll repeat here, was that I'd verify the return policy and how that works with Verizon's policy. I believe that you only have 14-days to return and not be penalized (i.e., pay the ETF with Verizon).

thanks for the heads up Dolfan, I'll be sure to check up with Best Buy on that one. I'm just so sick and tired of my BB, I'm chomping at the bit to jump to android.

I hear ya. Been rocking my Tour for far too long now waiting on my first Android device. My patience is being tested to the extreme.

yeah another good question that is still TBD (I'm assuming). They seem to carry all the other Verizon Droid phones, but who knows what kind of restrictions Verizon will put on it (as far as resale goes). I hope Best Buy will get it so I can finally put my gift card to use. If not, no biggie, I've been waiting to make this jump for far too long.

I too am toting around a Storm 2 and it's half functioning and limping along at best. I checked with Best Buy and they will do a 30 day return and a reversal of your upgrade with Verizon giving you a chance to hold off for as long as you'd like to pick-up a different device. I believe you can only do this once though. For that reason, I'm just holding out and I'll use that 30 day's to evaluate the Bionic and hopefully there'll be something else out in that 30 day window, ya know, just in case.

I'd call Best Buy mobile anyway, just to check it out and hear if from the horse's mouth.

thanks for the info DroidnewVZ, i'll be sure to double check with BBMobile. I'm on my last limbs and will pretty much take anything over this Storm 2. I'm willing to take my chances on the Bionic, just as I would with any brand new device. I can deal with some tech issues/bugs in the beginning, being in the IT field, I'm used to it and know that it is pretty much expected. Just wish I new when Best Buy was going to sell the Bionic, that is, IF they ever get to sell the Bionic.

Wasn't there a leaked Bionic flyer for BestBuy like in June? Idk if that turned out to be legit or not

Yeah I remember seeing that article on here. So many people were claiming it to be fake while others were stating just the opposite. I remember it go so heated that people were analyzing it through forensic programs to see how many times it was saved/Photoshopped to determine it legitimacy. Whether it was real or not, I'd rather wait to see it for myself before i pull the trigger.
