So as the title states I was re-flashing my rom with a new kernel to move away from the voodoo lagfix back to the 12/30. This was the fifth or sixth time I have done this and second phone I was on from verizon. After I purged the lagfix, or thought I had I installed the 12/30 kernel and to my surprise all I got is the samsung startup screen will not move past that. So I did the reset for the whole phone and flashed back to stock, still nothing. I ended up taking it into the store and got a new one on the way for free as I am still under 30days. What the tec told them was the phone some how erased the code. Kept that I flash my phone every five mins to myself and walked out with a new phone or well my old BB till my new one comes in. Dont think this will stop me from doing this all again, just not the lagfix I think. Anyways jsut thought I would share for everone thinking of doing the lagfix then switching back MAKE SURE IT IS GONE. Hope this third phone works like it should :)

you cant just re- flash over the voodoo you have to follow the complete remove voodoo instructions over at xda.

"I hope the third phone works like it should"

No offense, but I think they work just fine, you just messed it up with voodoo. And from what i have seen, there is always a way of getting back to stock.

Right. You can always get out of any mess as long as you know what steps to follow. To some, it's just a matter of how much they want to put into it. Within the first couple weeks of having my Fascinate, I go into the forced close loop of hell when messing with ROMs and kernels at work. I did not have the resources there, nor the time to correct the problem so I ended up getting a replacement on my lunch break. If I was at home, or maybe a little more experienced with Android (came from BB) I probably could have fixed it and been on my way. But for me in that situation, a replacement was just simpler to get back up and running.

I escaped from the force close loop with a supah clean rom, and a factory reset, both from CWM. It worked like a charm, took a bit to get all of my stuff back with TiBu. I think the lesson is to keep several Rom and matching kernels on the SD card. Or maybe I was just lucky. Still a half baked noob-cake so i'm just working from the empirical stuff for now.

yeah, I was missing a file after I did all this so I could not even get CWM to reinstall my old saved **** on the sd card. Kept saying could not complete line #2 even after I erased the phone to stock and did SU again so I could reload. I did work on the phone for hours and hours as I was off that day. Even the new odin with taking the batt out was giving me problems. As far as saying the phone working like it should, yeah my first phone was a HUGE lemon would turn on and off when it wanted call other people then I wanted to call a different person. I 100% agree I f’ed up this phone and I could not get it out of the samsung screen. I am sure if I wanted to take another day I would have done is but verizon gave me a new phone that day, so it was easy.
