This extended battery is probably crap, isn't it?

I'm going to be taking a trip and need an extended battery. I poked around eBay and found this one:

NEW 2X 3500mAh extended battery HTC ThunderBolt 6400 + Back Cover + Charger | eBay

I've never seen a 3500mAh battery, but this is not just one, but TWO of these batteries with the extended covers to fit them.

For only $18.69? Seriously?

I always believe that if something is too good to be true, it usually is.

What gives with these? Would I be waisting my money on this?

Thanks.

These are just generic batteries. I'm sure they are nowhere close to 3500mah probably more like 2000-2500.

I'd recommend getting the real HTC battery for a few bucks more. Last i know they were $25 from verizon.

I'd stick with HTC OEM batteries. Why risk the possibility of damaging your high-end phone with cheap batteries? OEM cost a little more, but you get what you pay for! :) Also, keep in mind there are antennas in the battery door. I've read where some of these after market doors don't work properly or at all. Again, another reason to stick with OEM.

If it goes well you save 30 bucks off the cost of the stock HTC battery.

If it goes badly you're out 20 bucks.

If it goes really badly you're out one thunderbolt in a very non - warranty way.

I stuck with HTC. The battery works great.

But, as a very smart man once said to me, "your gun, your bullet, your foot. Have fun!"

P.S. that assumes you have a use for two batteries. If you need only one, the stock one is 5 bucks more.
