Verizon's network is handdown the best overall. You think they would wanna hold off on a dual core Droid that they previews at CES and MWC? Its obvious that there is some problem between Motorola hardware, LTE, and Tegra 2. Becuase the Xoom and the Bionic both have been delayed because of problems with the LTE radios.

I can't even count the amount of times where my Verizon device has been relied on for GPS and search for certain things while friends on At&t, TMobile, and Sprint and barely able to hold on to their single bar of Edge/1x signal. At&t says they cover 97% of Americans, how much of that coverage map is 3G? Now compare that to Verizon's 3G coverage map. Hell their Lte is catching up to At&TS 3G coverage. If you really need 4G lte and dual core just wait or get the new Galaxy Tab 10.1.

The Bionic: Tegra 2 and the MDM9600 LTE chipset apparently don't play well together. Can't imagine why Qualcomm would not want to play with Nvidia... (this is why Samsung kept their production in house with Samsung LTE chipsets with the Hummingbird).

Also I am unbiased. The only thing that's contradicting is my complete politeness when you have only been rude. But I have to Respond intellectual to even the most unfriendly of people.

How did he break a rule? Both the thread title and the OP mention Verizon and when talking about Verizon you cant help but talk about the network and network technology? You don't define "bleeding edge", but mention "being left in the dust" which to me implies speed of the phone AND the network.

I only read thru a few pages. But verizon is now in bed with crApple, so they don't/can't release a top of the line phone to compete with sales of the new iphone when it comes out or even the old iphone.

If Verizon only cares about iphones, then I will be taking my business elsewhere!!

LTE speed is nice and all, but i can live with "4g" from T-Mobile or Sprint.

This has got to be the most boneheaded thing anyone has said in this thread. Yes they sell the iPhone now and yes the iPhone was likely a reason some of the first and second quarter phones were delayed (to give iPhone more time as their flagship phone) but to say they are in bed with Apple is just plain stupid. At least half the Android phones on Verizon now are better (specs wise) than the iPhone. The only thing that iPhone has on them is the "retina display" screen and even that Apple has inflated the quality difference of.

I think the op's post is just silly. The DX2 is as "bleeding edge" as any phone listed. The TBolt, DInc2 & Charge are also great phones.

Perhaps the other carriers are using these "bleeding edge" phones to distract their users from their antiquated networks.

Yes, becuase you disagree with me I am silly. And how is Dx2 as much bleeding edged as the listed phones? Its a droid x with a dual core processor thats the only diffrenece between it and the original.

Just chiming in here. I like all the talk by the way, I really don't know any nation wide carriers besides AT&T because up here in alaska that's all we got.
But I am aware of phone specs. And the whole "well I'd rather have old single core processor phones with 4g cause it sounds cool" instead of "awesome too of the line dual core monster phones, but awe stupid slow 3g ruins my life"
Just gonna say, 4g really doesn't matter. Like it doesn't. Cell service matters, coverage. But 4g speed? Nope.
My at&t sgs2, arguably the best phone on the market, loads web pages in one second. Files instantly. HQ YouTube instantly. No lag anywhere in the phones hardware. Games download in less than a minute. And play flawlessly. Not to mention Facebook is flawless.
I would take a DX2 3g over a tbolt anyday for example.
Ha but really my sgs2 on at&t is all I need, the extra half a second on downloads for 4g isn't worth sacrificing the better, faster, smoother, and more powerful phone.
In my opinion, find a carrier that has good service by you, and get the best phone. Don't sacrifice a better experience for a huge increase in download speed and ZERO difference in day to day use. Plus 4g craps on battery's. And has plagued the tbolt with issues, along side the tbolts issues just because its a last Gen phone. On the other hand I don't knkw how the charge is doing.
But yeah 4g is just a gimmick to me. I'm fine with my amazing phone on good network in my area over a crappy phone with issues and bad battery life just to do speed tests. Woooh! Look at my speedtests I'm awesome!
No your not awesome. It doesn't affect real world time by more than a second, its silly and I vote 4g is not a valid arguing point for any phone from here on out.

Well you are in Alaska. Nothing wrong with Alaska but......I can't imagine you're fighting for bandwidth up there.

True the T-Bolt has battery issues, the Charge however, has good battery life. I assure you LTE is no gimmick, and LTE is far superior to any network, in any market.

There are plenty of reasons to bash Verizon. Phone selection & network quality are not one of them.

Validity is based on perception, and therefore is opinion, much the same as what someone considers a good phone selection. You are wavering dangerously close to invalidating yourself by portraying opinions as facts. Just something to think about.

But the problem is Verizon on 3G is no where near 4 mbps where I live in San Diego. Maybe 1 mbps on good days. The difference between that and the 4G that in my in-store testing does on average of 12 to 17 mbps is a huge difference. If I got 4 mbps on average on 3G I wouldn't feel the need to get a 4G phone either as it would be more than enough on 3G.

Only by the most elite of techno geeks. Any Joe Consumer and the vast majority of people on fums like this will have no problem finding a phone or in most cases phones that more than suit their needs.

To follow your logic neither is physical keyboard or a camera or any of the other features a phone has are also invalid points when choosing a phone. To someone who desperately wants or needs those features it IS necessary and so is 4G.

How is it invalid? put any of the LTE phones on verizon against 4g phones on other networks and tell me that LTE doesnt make it a good phone. The network makes everything. The phone can only do so much and it relies heavily on the network more than a dual core quad core or anything.

I think what's trying to be said is that if you take a phone that has every awesome feature, kick ass processor and feels great in your hand but is 3G, its still better than a clunky, bulky turd phone with a dead battery that is 4GLTE.
