Trandz you needa chill and get your panties out of that humungous bunch they are in and how about this... DON'T BUY THE S5!!! Stick with your current phone, see what HTC, others have available or buy a freakn iPhone. Just quit your whining though and simply do not purchase it. Very simple solution!

Talk about not close to the rumors . . .like others this seems more like S4.1. Guess I'll wait to see what the new HTC One looks like. I understand now why they chose MWC to do the reveal instead of their own event.
Why would you believe rumors in the first place? Either way, most rumors were pretty close. Processor, camera, and fingerprint scanner were all correct

Same here. The size is a deal breaker for me. I was never interested in phablets because of their size and the S5 is definitely making a foray into that territory.

No aluminum (high end?) version. Still mostly the same Touchwiz we love to hate and no higher res display. The only thing they introduced today that was mildly interesting was the Gear Fit.

1) What were you expecting? There isn't going to be a massive change in processing technology in only one year, but a .6GHz increase is not too shabby
2) We haven't seen how the camera performs but if you expected it to outperform the Nokia line you're doing it all wrong. I'm sure it'll be amongst the top 3 cameras on the Android side though. Next to the Xperia Z1S and Z2
3) Again, we don't know how well it performs, but it's a visual improvement over the TW of old

5) More OEMs copy Samsung than vice versa. They implemented the fingerprint scanner differently than Apple though. Also, why do you need 64-bit processing? Other Android phones perform just fine without it

I don't mean processing power like that. I'll take a Moto X that runs smoother 10 times over any "over-powered" nonsense. I was referring to no 64-big chip. Apple didn't "need" it either. However, the apps operate better which Samsung can definitely use...A LOT of. How much different can it be implemented? Its a fingerprint scanner. Its a gimmick, but hey, that is what Samsung is known for right? I'm surprised Apple was the one to introduce it first. I guess they did it mainly because they knew Samsung would jock it, and then they can laugh. ****, I'm laughing.
How much of a visual improvement is TW? The homescreens look the same to me. The app icons are barely even changed and I'm talking about the native apps like messages,camera,etc. I'm 95% sure that half those apps wont even follow the flat design cues

Maybe technology? Is there a big difference in the 16gb and 32gb storage price wise? I highly doubt it.

Still - regular folk will eat this device up just like they have with the previous S phones. Until they need more than 16GB to start with, the needle won't move.

The physical size is my biggest issue with the S5. I expected it to be bigger than the S4, but not THAT much bigger.
I'm hoping Samsung does a proper "mini" version of the phone (no, not Snapdragon 400). My wishlist for an S5 mini: internals the same except for the screen size (4.3" - with larger bezels to allow for IP67 support), resolution (720), and battery (2000 mAh).
The physical size is my biggest issue with the S5. I expected it to be bigger than the S4, but not THAT much bigger.

I don't know. I don't think storage usage for "regular" users is a static thing over time. Cameras like this one have more megapixels than ever, resulting in larger photo sizes, 4K video recording, and with people more and more using cameras on their phone for pics and for VIDEO, I think that "regular" people will start to push up against a storage issue over time with a phone that only has 7GB available. Maybe not in month 1, but with lots of apps, lots of videos, etc, I don't think it is too hard at all for normal folks to get to 7GB in a year or longer.
IMO, 16GB MAY be OK if the user gets actually has 10GB or 12GB usable... maybe. I don't think 16GB is enough anymore if users only get 7+ GB ...
I'll be getting the 32GB one, assuming Verizon offers it again ..
