This is the Galaxy S5.

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

THUD.
C'mon HTC
I was really hoping image stabilization would make the cut.
Water resistance is a great addition, but this thing seems too big for my taste.
Was thinking I would pull the trigger as soon as it became available, now I think I'll wait to compare this with HTC's next device.

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

Really don't see how the s5 is an upgrade from the note 3. It's nearly as big with a smaller screen.

It's not an upgrade from the note 3. The note 4 will be an upgrade from a note 3

Don't count out the g2, released a bit ago but still has comparable specs. Also has image stabilization if I recall correctly.

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

Well, I don't care about fingerprint scanners and I'm not a health nut nor do I have any interest in the watches.

Soooooo.... guess I'm still looking for a new phone?

Nice to see it's water-resistant though. But that should be standard these days.

I don't think it's intended to be a direct upgrade. The S Pen is in a class of it's own.

Yeah, Kevin mentioned above that they are not meant to overlap. It's a completely different line of smartphones

Sent from my Galaxy S4 running SlimKat 4.4.2

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

The back looks tacky. Like a generic perforated leather you'd find in a 30yr old Pontiac.

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

Just imagine if Apple didn't made Gold popular and added Touch ID? The S5 would've been just a Spec Bump with this hideous Back Cover.

This is time for Apple and hTc to shine!!!

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

I have to say, I'm quite underwhelmed by this. The M8's bezel is looking much more tolerable to me now ☺

G2 seems like a better phone to be honest unless you really want the IP67 rating and the finger print scanner. Larger screen/battery in a smaller package.

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

If Samsung was underwhelmed by what the S4 did, I have a feeling their gonna have the same feeling about the S5.

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

What I like
-1080P screen (better battery life and more ppi then the human eye can see)
-nice size
-kit kat
-new processor
-removeable battery and memory card slot
-water and dust resistant

What I don't like
-TW

screen +1
size +1
latest android +1
processor+1
batt and mem card+1
water and dust resistant+1

TW -94841348138844287

no S5 for me then

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

I dont get it...do they like not learn or what? Oh yes we learned from the consumer outrage of the S4 and we will improve...and then announce this trash? WTF!

The specs are barely better than the G2 if at all really. The phone looks the same for now 3 years! YAY! Dont even say the back is different because you will be hypocrites after saying how it doesn't matter what its made out of since a case will be used. Thus the front is the only thing that really "matters", and that looks exactly the same.

Way to copy Apple's ****ty gimmicks and make them probably even ****tier since we all know Samsung loves putting things out that work 3/4 of the time or less.

Oh and how can I forget, touchwiz still looks like ****. What happened to the major design overhaul? Making the settings menu even more complex is not what I was thinking would happen here....And I'm glad to see the infamous lag make a return! The phone stuttered by a good 3 seconds twice in Phil's quick hands-on. Once when he just tapped on the weather widget....like really?

I don't know. Rumors are rumors.

So, not for you then? :-)

Seriously though, before this SAMSUNG has said nothing about this phone. What you inferred was coming from reporter's rumors is up to you. Also .. "Consumer outrage" huh? How many S4's did they sell?

At this point, phones are all rectangles with touch screens. I don't need that much physical innovation every year. I have the GS4 and it is great. I don't NEED it to change much. Faster processor, water resistant, better screen , BETTER CAMERA... Those are real improvements for me. I look forward to them. If you don't like them or want them, there are more"innovative" phones around I suppose :-) Good luck with your choice ..

Thank you.

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

the bezel's are large because of water/dust resistance. The Xperia Z2 also has large bezels as well.

Re: This is the Galaxy S5

They can be rectangles no ****. However look at Nokia's their phones are stellar, the iPhone is stellar hardware. This? Looks like some garbage a local chinese maker made to sell for 150$ off-contract in China. They changed the tablet TW, so **** me for thinking they'll change the phone a swell right?

And yes consumer outrage. Samsung themselves even acknowledged the lackluster performance that didn't reach their expectations.

It aint reaching it this time either

Exactly it's not like the S5 is your only choice of an android phone.
