I just picked up the S4 last night and my gf has had the One for 2 weeks. Both great phones. Both cameras are amazing. Dont really think one is better then the other

No matter how your spin it, cloud storage IS NOT a replacement for an SD card.

Why not?


1. It runs up data and the 2 good networks don't offer unlimited anymore

2. You have to have a connection, so if I'm a bad signal area you may not be able to get anything down or up loaded

3. You can't fast forward nearly as quickly while streaming a movie from the cloud. Skip to the point of the video that you want to watch and wait as it buffers. On a card you just skip to it and go. No problem.

4. 64gb of space is a one time payment of 50$ without any recurring charges or impact on data. Can also be popped in your pc (windows or osx) and transferred quickly. No need to hook the phone up

5. If a server is temporarily down your data isn't there, but with an SD card hope data is always there

I 150% agree with this statement. Really don't understand why people just don't get this. Main reason I got the S4 over the ONE. That and I have become too accustomed to a menu button. I know some people hate physical buttons, but after having android phones for so long (motorola cliq was my first smartphone) I just can't bring myself to have a phone without it....

This. Why do people buy an HTC One, knowing it has Sense on it, then immediately try to install CM on it, effectively removing all of the features that make it unique (Zoe, Blinkfeed, etc.)? I can understand replacing the launcher, but if all you want is stock Android, get a Nexus. If all of the manufacturers released their phones with stock Android on them, it would be a pretty boring smartphone landscape.

It's just plain silly. It's like buying a brand new Chevrolet and throwing a Ford engine in it.

I like the Nexus 4, it's a wonderful device with only 3 shortcomings,and I'm actually thinking about buying one, but I'm not going to buy one then try to make it isn't a galaxy s.

This is the beauty of Android. There's literally a phone for everyone and you're not stuck with ONE make/model...**cough-Apple-cough**.
Plus, the HTC One really nailed it with their dual stereo speakers located "on the front" of the phone. Personally, I prefer the S4, but the One is a decent device.

Unless you're putting 128gb on a phone internally, sd cards should still be there, especially with megapixels increasing which is making larger and larger file sizes, we need micro SD cards

It's amazing to me that we can't just call it a draw on these two phones and move on. That's seems to be what most people are saying anyway. There are maybe one or two features that pushes most people in one direction or the other, and for most of us choosing one phone or the other was astoundingly difficult.

For this reason, the "VS" threads are about as idiotic as you can get. You can't make a bad choice here, so why is everyone still justifying their decisions by exaggerating issues with the other phone?

I'm a news addict and love blink feed, tried the S4 for a week and returned it and got an HTC One, S4 had freezes, application shut down errors which annoyed me coming from an iPhone 5. The One has given me 0 issues and am very very happy with it. If S4 worked for you cool, I prefer the One.

I still do not get why people love the One display, when the 4.7 display is really 4.2, due to the to the fixed nav bar when using apps. Considering this is functionally comparing a 4.2 to a 5.0 inch display for same size devices, the difference is HUGE.

I respect their choice, I just do not get it, since much smaller app view and easy to press by accident compared to S4 design.

...... The iPhone does not have a navigation bar. It has a home button like the S4..... Maybe that is why you can.

You One fanboys make the S4 fanboys seems neutral in perspective....... Nah, they seem just as "bad". Well, the ones that claim a few gigs is plenty of space for everyone and also the ones that believe you can put apps on the sd card. They make One fanboys seem neutral

1. Actually they both have 2gb if memory. The one has 32gb of internal storage, but that's it. You fill that up, no expansion. Meanwhile on the galaxy s 4 if you buy the 32gb model with a 64gb micro SD you're looking at 96gb if storage. No possible way to get that on the one

2. The galaxy s 4 does not lag, that was so last week

3. Actually the s4 wins that. Voice control, swipe for screen shot, tap to go to the top of a list, voice controlled camera, taking pictures while shooting videos, panoramic camera, the s4 has it beat

You do mean it ONLY has the cool and unique features of Blinkfeed and Zoe......Honestly, I just exchanged my One for the S4 yesterday and the difference is night and day. The s4 has so many more useful features, the camera software blows the One's camera away. You can do so much with the camera on the s4. Blinkfeed is useless if you enjoy using pulse or flipboard. Zoe is just weird....but everyone has there own opinion.

What is it the S4 camera can do that the One can not? I saw a post on this forum. Ways back that showcased like 50+ side by side images and they both looked pretty great to me.

Just wondering, when I use my phone for a camera I point and shoot, if I want to do some serious noodling to an image I will use snapseed.

one simple thing is the s4 has a working preflash for taking pictures in the dark. I know not a big deal but it is annoying. My htc would take blurry photos in the dark because its preflash is broke. so did my wifes, so did alot of ppls from xda. It can also make GIFS. it has the drama shot feature. It can remove people from images if they accidently walk through the background and make your picture ugly. beauty face and beauty shot. beauty face lets you sort of like modify the face structure to be more flattering. and sound and shot which i think is like zoe. it adds background sounds for a few seconds like if your taking a picture of a kid playing by the ocean. you would have the waves in the background. Im sure ill think of more.

You can take a picture, look at it on a computer screen, zoom in and it still looks like a picture.....not a sloppy painting

Just the opposite for me. I was always compelled to the s4, especially if I was going to take photos that day.

I do have to say though, I love, love, love the build of the One. You won't understand the hype unless you actually hold one in your hands for a few weeks.

One can only hope Samsung is taking note for their next major handset.
