I think you definitely should switch over. It already supports extensions like uBlock Origin and a few others.
sync is perfect, I've used it for years with no issue and best of all it's totally open source. Plus it's not using the chrome engine but it's own engine. And it's lighter than chrome. I use Firefox exclusively now and only keep vivaldi around in case some website insists on the user using chrome.
