The optimus s in question is my Dad's phone. Had previously been running thunderom on a v8 baseband. About 2 weeks ago, I updated him to VD and installed reborn (installed newest xionia in the process). Everything had been fine and I'm actually at my parents' house right now (my sister had a baby shower today) and lo and behold, bootloop on the LG logo cropped up while the phone was sitting on the charger. With only a mild hand cramp, I can eventually get into xionia, but I get random reboots back to the LG bootloop from within it. I managed to wipe dav, cache and a factory restore but if i try to run a nandroid restore and reflash reborn it just dumps back to the bootloop. Making matters worse, all i have to work with is a crappy old dell desktop running a 1.8ghz pentium 4 *shudders*. I was going to try to force flash stock VD but all the links to the lg updater tool are dead now. Oy!

Are you using data2ext? If so, your sdcard might be failing and that is what is causing the problems. If your nandroid backup also backed up data2ext, then that would explain why restoring it just makes you bootloop. If this is the case, I would backup the sdcard, and install a fresh rom until you can get a new sdcard to restore your nandroid.
