This phone doesn't just have bugs, it's garbage

So i exchanged my one x today due to it being unable to stream BT music to my Nissan Murano. I got a new one x and it started having the same issue, it would not stream music with out skipping. I got a phone call and after i hung up the phone call the music was streaming perfectly. I turned off the car and turned it back on and it started skipping again. I called someone and hung up and the music streams just fine. It's kind of annoying, but i think i will be keeping the phone for now at least because i know it does work, hopefully this works itself out over time and i don't have to take a call everytime.

found this over at XDA - he is referring to the new update due out soon from AT&T that was leaked early and being installed by some (1.82):

"I have also confirmed that this ROM fixes a BT problem where the phone would drop and reconnect randomly to headphones, car systems, etc."

Hopefully this will take care of your issue.

Next time you take your car in for a service, ask them to update the software. Or, better still check online for the software for your cars bluetooth (mine is Ford Sync), and update it via a USB drive...

Alternatively, unpair your car and device, delete it from history in the car, and then re-pair. See if that helps...

Actually I had already tried the 1.82 update and it made the wifi perfect, but did not help my bt at all. The new phone I got is still on the old version.

Well i had to do a new pairing when I got my replacement, it took forever to pair. I don't think there is any update for my Murano, it could stream my iPhone fine. I 'll check it out thou, I'm. Hoping I can get the streaming fixed.

Farewell, Enjoy the iPhone that we would all consider the disappointment. Its the beauty of free choice, you dont have to like this phone :)

You're an early adopter and early adopters always see the most problems. If you didn't want a buggy phone you should have waited 30-60 days for HTC to work the bugs out.

And every iPhone release also had it's bugs as well. The 4 had the antenna issue and the 4s had battery life issues as well as problems with Siri and the new notification system.

Comparing a device brand new to market like the One X to a mature product that's been on the market for 8 or 9 months like the iPhone 4s is rather disingenuous.

My HOX streams music fine over bluetooth to my Volvo C70. Was streaming for a 90 minute drive with no issues. Just saying this to confirm that whatever BT problems the HOX has are not affecting all BT connections, and it is possible for it to work well. With a bit of luck they'll have an update that will help resolve your particular issue!

I'm having a couple of odd problems with mine.

About 25% of the time it says it couldn't send the text message. But over 1/2 the time it sent that one twice.

Bluetooth drops out once in a blue moon.

Signal bars will go from 5 -> 0 periodically while sitting in the same location.

There's supposed to be an update coming out end of the month to fix these problems. So, I'm going to hang in there until then and see what happens.

Living on the bleeding edge.

In another thread a guy with a HOX is returning his due to all the issues including Blue Tooth. He claims his Plantronics headset will not stay connected, and that the HOX also drops the connection with his car audio system. He's also frustrated with the fact that HTC has not released fixes yet.

Meantime it appears many people that monitor the Phone Dog site and some others still think the HOX is the #1 phone. Amazon has dropped the price to $119, which is somewhat surprising given how new it is.

Personally I'm going to wait and see when the GS3 gets released since it seems to be the most advanced of any. The Skyrocket ain't bad either, especially for the $40 Amazon sells it for..

Hope everyone else with their HOX is enjoying it.. Cheers! O:-)

The only issue I have...every once in a while, when I return to the home screen, it looks like its reloading, just sits there "loading..."

It should eventually load, might take a little bit.

Apparently, when the HOX runs very low on ram, it'll even kill the launcher, that "Loading.." you're seeing, is it reloading the launcher/widgets.

pretty lame I know, here's to hoping HTC really digs into the memory management and fixes some things.

I've had barely any issues with my HOX, besides some intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity issues. But its only happened a handful of times and the problem only lasts a matter of seconds while my wi-fi reconnects.

As multiple above posters said, every model of phone has defective units. You cannot fault an entire product line for a couple bad apples. As well as you cannot compare a brand new device to a device that has 9+ months of bug fixing done to it.

Either exchange your phone and hope thats solves the problem, or try it out again in a month when a couple updates have come out.

But don't claim that a phone is garbage, just because of your fairly isolated issues. I'm sure %99 of HOX users are ecstatic about their phones and love them just as I do.

My HTC One X has really struggled with notifications lately, and it's only about a month old. But I will definitely be returning to an iPhone when this Android dies. Androids just aren't nearly as enjoyable as iPhones. I still miss my iPhone 3gs every time I use the HOX. However, emotions aside, this is a pretty solid phone with minimal issues.

Install cm9. It'll be a whole new phone.

I'll be returning it first thing in the morning.

  • I have to airplane mode on/off every 5 minutes to use data
  • Wi-Fi is atrocious
  • Apps load slow, SpeedTest even loads slow, I have to restart the phone because widgets constantly freeze
  • Battery life sucks
  • Text messages will not send unless I airplane mode on/off or restart the phone
  • Calls Drop with every phone call, and no it's not the network, my iPhone NEVER dropped calls

I tried to get away from Apple, but this is the very reason I went back to them in the first place. I'll be back when there's a stable android release that doesn't crash/freeze up every 5 minutes.

I've had the phone a little over 24 hours and to me, it's a huge disappointment.

I had the issue with the data needing to be restarted with airplane mode alot.. All I did is take the sim out and reinsert it and everything is much better data wise.

I'm really glad, my one x is problem free. It's true the Wi-Fi signal is not as strong as the signal of my former Aria, but it always works great. Even the multitasking works pretty well - not great, well. Anyway, if you're using a phone with several issues, get a replacement one x before damning the entire phone model

Rockin' the app on my ONE X
