Those of you with ICS...whatcha think?

Yea the fonts and Pentile...it does look a lil better.

Plus you can make them bigger or smaller...it may help even more. Play around with the font sizes...

Just checked the YouTube app..before with the red letters, pentile issues were alot easier to see. Now it's not. BUT....the red letters were on a black background before. Now its white.

Just more proof that GingerBlur's textures, gradients, and visuals just exacerbated the issues SAMOLED screens have. Its definitely not 720p quality, but it looks much better.

Yes.

BUT, there is an issue with the recovery on GB not working properly with ICS, so you have to actually install ICS twice. The first time it will fail, but it actually installs the correct recovery during that first time. These are the steps I took:

1. Download file from that site. Put on external SD Card. (important!)
2. Boot into stock recovery.
3. Clear cache TWICE.
4. Choose install from SD, and then choose the file you downloaded.
5. Install. It should fail, saying something about the TMP Package.
6. It will kick you back out to the Install from SD screen.
7. Choose reboot system, and IMMEDIATELY press Volume up/down and the power button. This will send you back into recovery. (I had to lift off these keys for half a second, then press them all again in order for it to go into recovery)
8. Clear cache TWICE again.
9. Install this same file again. It will take half the time and complete successfully.

Boom. ICS.

Okay, so after playing around for a couple of hours trying to get this to work, I found that it wasn't going to until I used DroidRazrUtility to give me the right version of the recovery needed to install the update.

I got ICS. I love it.

Was part of the soak but Moto kept screwing around so i just went and loaded it up my self. Really loving it, smoother, faster.......

Also noticed my 4g and wifi connections are much improved. I do wish you could get to the widgets by long pressing the screen like you used to. Ottt Awesome.

So I loaded ICS. Got stuck on " patching boot image" I waited for about an hour and realized it was stuck. Hard booted into recovery. Cleared cache twice. Tab the install again. Worked perfectly.

Both cores seem to be working together quite well. Before the second core barely ever was active, now they are working together brilliantly.

Odd. You must not have been getting the timing right, because it worked perfectly for me and a few others.

If you use a different launcher (Apex, Nova) you can do precisely that.

Thanks switched to Apex. Back in heaven but now I miss the favorite contacts widget lol. You win some and you lose some I guess.

Glad i loaded up the leak....moto suspended my account for telling them what i thought....Loving the ICS Leak though......

I kept running into the package error each time. I read through the thread you posted and what someone had explained was that there were two different versions of the recovery mode on stock Gingerbread and only one was able to accept the update.

Using DroidRazrUtility 1.7, I brought my phone out of brick and back into Gingerbread. This gave me the recovery mode that the update worked with.

I can't really explain how or why, but in the end I got it working.

Hmm odd. Well, all that matters is you've got it now!

Things I've noticed since latest ICS.

The screen transition is not as fluid as it was. I have to almost swipe across entire screen to ensure that the screen switch every time.

When on home screen and I hit the home button, it does not give me the five page preview that it did before.

Signal strength looks a little worse than before but when I check it in settings it has the same dBm as on gb.

Google music has not opened for me several times. I get a blank black screen.

Screen shots are nice to have again.

Keyboard is nicer IMO.

Battery life actually seems better.

You can't choose CDMA only anymore. It is global by default but you can change it to LTE/CDMA.

Camera is better and I like being able to take still shots while taking a video.

Edit: Flash is not working on my phone. I downloaded it from the market and it will download the video (via progress bar) but it will not play. I tried downloading dolphin HD and it did the same thing. Once I start trying to play a video it renders my browser useless. I have to go into apps and force stop the app to get it working again.

For the browser freezing on Flash...try hitting the Home key to go back to the home screen, then holding it for the Task Switcher and remove it from there. See if that helps.

Use those ICS features!!! lol.

I tried that. The only thing that seems to work is a force stop of the app.
