Tempted to buy the S view wireless cover...those that have the s view cover and the samsung charging pad roughly how long does it take to fully charge to 100%?
Huh? No. About 3 hours from 0 to full. Mine charges just as quick plugged in from 0 to 90 as it does wirelessly. It just takes longer from 90 to 100.

I'm using the Samsung charging back and the Choe charging pad. I can't comment on the Samsung charging pad. I should have explained that a little better.

I am using the Samsung back as well. The choetech back ran hotter and didn't charge as fast as as my lg and Nokia pads.

You might have had a defective unit. Mine doesn't get hot and it charges pretty fast. Although I have nothing to compare it too except my wife's and hers is the same setup as mine.
Could someone fill me in please? I never looked into this.
Is the wireless back pre-charged so it's an extra power pack. Or is it like I think - another way to charge the battery without a direct connection to an outlet?
The battery charges SUPER fast on AC ( < 90 mins), and even with a 1.0A car charger it's fast.
What is the range away from the base unit thingy.
In other words - what is the point of carrying a larger heavier pack around?
I can put the small 1A ac charger from my GS2 in my coat pocket.
Is it not just a novelty item?

I tried it with the choetech back and about same charging rate. I do have a very thick case (Trident Kraken ams), so that could have an impact

Not even close to being novelty and it's not a battery pack.
You can either get a Samsung wireless charging back (black or white on Amazon) or use a charging coil that fits under existing battery cover. The Samsung back IS thicker and the coils make the back bulge a little... So it's a trade off. Then you can buy ANY qi charging pad you wish.
Once you do this, all you have to do is set it down and walk away...or go to sleep....your choiceCheck em out below!

OK So you never forget to charge it. That's an advantage. Thanks.

At work when I don't use it I can put it on the pad. Especially on days when I walk away from my desk a lot. At night, I use this charger because sometimes I will knock my phone on the ground in the middle of the night or grab the phone forgetting that the cord is in
