Thought this was funny and interesting.

Sorry context. Google wont provide Microsoft the corrrect API's for ads and as a result MS can't publish the YouTube app.

Technically it was Microsoft who misused the API by not allowing ads in their YouTube app, preventing Google and YouTube Content Creators (you tubers who make money through ads on their videos) from making money. That's why Google sent them a cease and desist. Microsoft was trying to prevent Google from making money without any thought of anyone else who may use those ads to provide for their families, and which may be that person's only source of income.

But Google still hasnt provided the correct API's.

To be fair, Microsoft hasn't really wanted many of Google's services on their services, they even made it extremely difficult to use a Gmail account on a Windows Phone. Impossible, even, iirc correctly.

Looks like this is fair enough revenge then.

I'm waiting for the day Apple retaliates against Samsung. God that would be amazing.

I just can't wait to see what happens with this patent violation claim from Apple against Google Now. Google said they wouldn't use their patents offensively unless they were attacked first, which Apple seems to be doing, so I'm just sitting here with my popcorn waiting for Google to let them have it.

I think Samsung is toeing the line with their Apple bashing ads. They really do need to be careful.

I'm pretty torn on the Google apps on Microsoft thing. On Wp7 Google was pretty clear that they weren't going to make apps for that system and that if Microsoft wanted their users to have access, they needed to upgrade their browser to the latest webkit technology and then they could use maps, gmail, youtube, etc. and get the same experience we get on desktop... which is pretty awesome. It's not as good as having a dedicated app because of notifications, etc... but at that point MS was just like, "oh they have Bing, no biggie, Bing is better!"

Now they're reaping the benefits of having a terrible browser that ignores the latest tech and telling the company that pretty much owns the internet to bugger off.... Could Google gain some awesome points by going in and helping them? Sure, but ... why? MS acts like a child and if I were Google, I wouldn't be too concerned about 1.5% of the market.

The biggest kicker? MS has already told it's customers that it's going to stop supporting WP8 in 2014. Why would Google develop an app for a platform that'll be replaced next year? That's terribad.

Will try S4 soon. But can't decide if ill have 2 phones or just sell my note 2 and buy S4.
