Thought this was funny and interesting.

Out of the topic, Jolla Sailfish OS is shaping out to be good.
Can't wait for that to be released: I must say many OS`s are being released this year, Tizen, Firefox OS and Sailfish.
Along with Ubuntu Touch (finished for OEM) in 2014.
In my personal opinion, Gesture Based OS`s are awesome.

Starting to see more specs on the N7 refresh. Are we taking bets on release date and pricing?

I think my nexus 7 is finally starting to give up the ghost. My Wifi isn't staying on all the time, it's extremely laggy, and just not a good experience right now in general. I can't wait until I finally can get a N10

Mine is still going strong, but I kinda want to see if there is an updated N10 this year too.

As in, no computer.

Are you not rooted?

There is a way to back up to an SD card via a dongle thing and Google Drive via Helium, or you can manually load most of everything to Google Drive.

It is rooted, but I somehow lost TWRP when I updated to 4.2.2. And wasn't able to do anything when I was last on the computer I rooted it with.

^ The (in)famous rubber banding patent has been found valid (again) after initially being declared invalid. Like everyone that knows patent law said, the patent looks like it will survive, but with narrowed claims. Unfortunately for Samsung, one of the claims that was upheld as valid was one the jury in Samsung v. Apple found that they infringed.

I saw that too. I wonder why they reversed their judgment.

Basically, the initial invalidation (or whatever you want to call it) was done without any opportunity for Apple to respond. That's how it goes, not just for apple, but for every patent holder. After that action, then apple got to go through the USPTO's reasoning and respond point by point, as well as provide evidence for why the patent should be valid. Based on the reexamination, it looks like apple was able to successfully prove that the four claims that were recertified were new inventions and not invalidated by prior art. That's what usually happens in cases like this, which is why patent attorneys at some major tech sites warned those that were celebrating the invalidation that it probably wouldn't hold up. It's not over yet, either, and it could still take years to get a final ruling on the patent.
