Thought this was funny and interesting.

I'm Italian in the sense that I was born in Siena, but my mother was Greek. Also I grew up in the US.

Transmitted through spacetime.
Wow. I was in Siena a couple of years ago. We did a trip to Italy then did a Mediterranean cruise. Siena has the most amazing cathedral. The floor is all marble. Looks like a football field of little squares.

Happy Father's Day Matt. Hope you had some time with the kids.

Useless unless you have a sprint device or a nexus.

Actually I disagree with that article, it's use is on the rise. I mean sure if you are worried about privacy I could see it as an issue. I mean it would be pretty easy to build a device that intercepts the waves put off by exchanging information between the two devices.

Besides apple probably does care, they aren't stupid, they are probably working on a version of their own that they will patent, then use to sue and bash every other device manufacturer that uses it.

It isn't, really, because of things like ISIS and proprietary implementations of it like S Beam. Perhaps once ISIS finally launches it will see much more widespread use, but until then it will still be niche.

You really need to tone down your anti-apple crap. It undermines any legitimate points you might have.

Didn't know Apple paid TC to write articles.

There's truth to it though. It was billed as a big deal, but then Wallet never took off. Windows phone had it, but can't do a damn thing with it.

That is true to an extent, but IMO the article was mostly BS.

Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7. Beam seemed to work with a coworker's DNA and another's S4.

There you go. Unless you own a nexus, its pretty useless. I've never see anyone actually use any of the sharing features, and a lot of people don't even know their phone can do it. It could be useful, but it doesn't have a 'killer app'.

Um, he said that his coworkers had a Droid DNA and S4 respectively, which last time I checked, were not Nexus devices. So what you said is incorrect. I share things between my two devices that have NFC. I also use it whenever I see it at a gas station or store or restaurant that has it. I think the only reason no one uses it is that there aren't enough places that allow you to use it.
