A few issues regarding my new G2 that might help others to decide on purchasing this phone.
- Reception has been great. I work in an office building and my old Galaxy Nexus would never see higher than 300-400 kb/s. For years. First day in the office with the G2 and speedtest.net showed 3.2 MB/s. Great success.
- It's fast. Duh.. Snappy fast and although the difference isn't startling, it's faster than my 2nd gen Nexus 7 tablet. Pop in and out of apps with no problems or hiccups ever.
- It gets hot. My nexus 7 tablet doesn't get hot easily. I like that. This phone does get hot when playing games or watching movies. I don't like that. It is better than my galaxy nexus though which could melt snow.
- Knock on is a great feature. Can't do it too fast or too slow but KNOCK OFF does not work with Nova Launcher. I haven't tried other launches yet but I'm assuming the knock off feature is exclusive to the stock launcher.
- Not a fan of the back buttons as sometime it's hard to tell if you are on the middle button, the volume up/down, or even the camera lens without looking. This is an issue if you don't use the stock launcher and can't knock off.
- Battery life has been great. Nothing more to say.
Overall, it's a great phone. I can't complain. There isn't a faster phone out there right now period and there probably won't be one on verizon for some time. I looked at the motox and I didn't like the screen on it. The LG's screen is night and day better. My only future concern is LG updating Android in a timely manner.
