thoughts on the V20?

I'm concerned about one part of the software UX.

The display density.

On AC's preview, stuff on the V20 looks so damn huge. Usually, LG goes for 640DPI on their QHD panels, which I think is just too damn huge. It's a big gripe I have with LG phones and I'm somewhat disappointed that LG doesn't seem to have added a DPI switcher like on the Nougat preview and the S7 edge plus my Note7.
After getting used to 518DPI on my Note7, going to 640DPI on my LG G4 backup due to the recall reminds me of Easy Mode.

Nope, but nothing I say is going to convince that taking a video using an image sensor of a display with an unknown white balance and then playing that encoded video on an entirely different device isn't going to be indicative of said display performance at all.
Maybe you can't. I can. The display clearly lacks brightness and contrast, like previous LG devices.

You can adjust the size of everything on screen. It is shown in LG's UX5.0+ video they posted on Youtube.

No offense at all, but this is why we test displays with measurements because almost 100% of people are wrong about what they think they're seeing.

why does it shoot 4:3 in 16mp mode? i havent used an lg since my trusty g2 died . i want to love it but it seems like a phone thats not made to stand out but blend in.

Looks like a great device

Based on what I read, it looks like the V20 will be a great device. It looks nice and spec wise, should work wonderfully.... What do you think?

Specs sound awesome, kinda disappointed at some of the cuts for the US market and the zero sales to Europe thing but otherwise this thing sounds pretty great.

every side by side ive seen while researching a new phone has the g5 falling behind every other Flagship. Im in need of a new phone so ive been going crazy researching what i want/ need in a mobile device

Seems they DID improve the focus:

LG V20 preview: Four cameras, two screens, zero compromises | Android Central

The one change here is in terms of auto focus, where the V20 has a hybrid system consisting of laser, phase-detect and contrast auto focusing, choosing the right system depending on the situation. I've been intrigued by the wide-angle secondary camera on the G5 and I'm happy to see it here — and while it's somewhat disappointing to see the same camera setup as the G5, it's still slated to be one of the best cameras available today.
I can't seem to comment on the article, but I think it needs a slight correction. In the FB presentation video, they did say the U.S. versions WILL include a set of B&O ear buds. I'm not sure if branding and software tweaks missing are correct, but the article said the U.S. versions would not have the ear buds.

For a limited time yes, earbuds will be included.

The B&O Play tuning is software and branding.

I'm disappointed in the screen because I know it drains the battery far worse than an LED. Especially with that always on, full ribbon strip .

The perception of what is being seen is all that matters in a display.

I disagree 100% with you on this. To me the quality of the display is all that matters in a display. So appropriate brightness coupled with accurate color, saturation and gray-scale representation, viewing angles, low black levels, contrast ratio are the visible things that matter in a display - and the calibration of these things is measurable and there is an objective better or worst. Do some people prefer less accurate or undersaturated or oversaturated displays? Sure. But they're preferences are in opposition to the industry standard. That doesn't mean they ought not like what they like, it just means their preferences are not in line with what is objectively better. The other giant thing about display tech that matters is power efficiency.

Not really an inspiring design. I think the V10 looks much better. I really miss the rubberized back!!! That phone would never slip out of my hand.
