Three dropped calls with S7; never dropped calls on Note 2.

Mine is -87 right now in the city. It's normally -110 or worse at home in the middle of nowhere.

If you have ever had ring back tones on your account with Verizon, even if it's not an active feature on your account now, make sure to call Verizon and have them turn it off in your account completely. I wasn't paying for it for over 2 years, got the S7 and had call drop problems from day 1. Never had before. After over a month of trying to figure out the problem all it was was a simple click for Verizon and haven't dropped a call since.

The reception is usually 103 to 105 db vs 95 db on Note 2. ANyone else getting dropped calls on your S7? My wife's S7 has nearly identical reception of 103+. This is a big problem when on a business call. Singal strength show 3 bars on the status bar, btw. I have had the note 2 for over 3-1/2 years. I make LOTS of long calls. Many over a half hour each. That phone has been used in the same location as the S7. Sure seems like a phone issue, but with 3 bars of strength showing I'm perplexed why it should be a signal issue despite the fact the db is 10 worse on the S7.,

Googling shows very few online complaints about the S7 re dropped calls.

I am having the same issue with mine. Incoming and outgoing both will make a soft beep and switch over to the home screen, as soon as either party answers. I was thinking that maybe I did something to cause this? I can't call or except calls... it rings...so frustrating and I'm losing important business calls! I feel your pain....

Have you tried turning off the Advanced Calling feature?

Dropped and poor quality on calls all the time, it's awful and has cost me business. Very pissed at Samsung, they should have recalled this problemed device. This is my third expensive Samsung phone / device, and the worst phone I've ever had ( if you can't make a phone call that's dependable, all the other crap is worthless if you depend on the device for business). Waiting for my third replacement in the mail now, which will undoubtedly be a refurbished POS. If it doesn't work beautifully I will exchange for a new Apple phone 6+ and never look back at Samsung again, including their appliances, as this shows a total lack of concern for their consumers, many of who spend big money on their products. Shame on you Samsung. #shameonyouSamsung #Samsung

I've had the s7 for about a month now, and get dropped calls on just about every extended call - typically about 30 minutes into the call. Many times, I'm sitting in the same spot, in my same apartment, without moving for the entire duration of the call, so in my case the dropped calls aren't due to moving from LTE-capable to non-LTE-capable areas. I've also had static/interference on just about every call, and folks on the other side of the line often get interference or worse, suddenly can't hear me at all even when I can still hear them.

I've tried the phone in a number of other places, both indoors and outdoors, and the call quality continues to be spotty and largely poor. Interestingly, I can usually hear the other person better than they can hear me, and while many times the other person has completely stopped hearing me mid-call, that hasn't happened in the other direction.

The phone is largely as it was from the factory/store - I've only installed a few basic applications (along the lines of Spotify, Speedtest, etc.), and have only tweaked a few basic settings. In any event, these call problems existed right out of the gate, before installing any apps. I've tried a factory reset - no help. The phone is running on 6.0.1 and has the Feb 2016 security patch.

I'm on Verizon, and never had this problem in the past, with my many other phones (iphones, Blackberries, and one Android), making calls in the exact same spot in my apartment at the same times of day/days of week. I didn't even know today's phones and networks were capable of such poor performance. (The earpiece volume is also nearly unusably low, but that's for another thread..)

I did find that the call quality was slightly better after turning off advanced calling, and switching from global networks to LTE/CDMA. But I don't have enough data points yet to determine whether this has helped with the dropped calls. I haven't tried wireless calling yet.

I do love the phone in most other ways - so have hung onto the phone hoping these issues are software-fixable. Still hoping for a solution!

I have had my s7 for a month and a half and have had the dropped call issue the whole time. I just recently got it replaced with a new s7 and it is still doing it. I not only get dropped calls I don't receive calls. I was more than patient with Verizon and all the ways they thought would fix my phone now I am just beside my self with another phone and the same issue!

Just to update everyone: after the first few dropped calls, which prompted me to create this thread, I haven't had any more than those I initially reported. I can't comment on the reason for the change in performance as I haven't changed any settings on the phone. Advanced Calling is always ON. Good luck to the rest of you with dropped calls.

It is possible Verizon did some VoLTE tweaks with their software updates which helped to relieve the issue.

Dave could not have explained my exact problem better. I have used my Galaxy s4 for 3 years without any dropped calls in exactly the same office. I installed an antenna at my office and upgraded to the new technology omni Poynting when I bought the S7 but it did not improve the situation. I factory reset my S7 but it didnt help. I am loosing bussiness and my clients get upset
I am now going to hand in my phone for repair but I am not sure if it will only add to my high level of frustration.

I have had 2 new samsung 7 s within last 6 weeks, and have had issues with calling out AND the phone dropping calls too. Am not happy and it appears there'll be another replacement.....getting sick of it .

regards,
Mark
