Guess I just answered my question, went and looked again and saw a tab for tablets.

Has anyone that has the thrive now, added any apps? games? any that worked or didn't?

Thanks.

The new tablet optimized words with friends is free, and they improved the UI so much over what they had before.
For fun I like Google Sky and Google Body.

Thanks for your two Google suggestions; I didn't know of them. Sky is awesome! My grandchildren have been wanting me to play Words with Friends . . . I suppose that's in Android Market?

All of the apps that I had on my HTC Incredible and my HTC Flyer were available on Android Market and installed on my Thrive. Documents to Go works so far without a problem and most importantly the email client supports my Exchange server. I will work more on it tomorrow, but my GF would not appreciate me being late because of my new "Tech Toy" :)

Yes sir words is in the market and its optimized for tabs. The adds are annoying but it's free so I can't complain.

For a website on the home screen the only way I know is the intent widget that shows your favorites.

Nonie: my wife is playing plants vs zombies on her thrive right now, what types of Apps are you interested in?

No it doesn't come with it, it's only available via the amazon app store. There is a good majong tablet optimized app in the market its a bit pricey but worth it if you play alot.

Just keep searching... Most paid Apps have a "lite" version so you can try before you buy. Not to mention the 15 minute return window.

Oh yes, I forgot about the intent widget (that I scooted into the trash can). Thanks; I'll pull it back into business!

For you that have your Thrive now, can you make shortcuts for your home page, are do you have to have special app to do this. and is there a bookmark for favorites?

If I understand your question correctly you want to put app shortcuts directly on your main screen?

If that's it, then all you have to do is click the small + button in the upper right hand screen. Then you click the "Apps" tab, it will bring up all the apps you currently have installed on your tab. Click the one you want and it will drop it on the screen.

You can move the icons around by holding your finger on one until it lifts off the screen, then move it around to the desired location.

The instructions are similar for putting widgets up and changing your background.

Sorry if I misunderstood your question.

Well, Maybe I didn't explain it right. But like when your on your regular computer and you have a web site, that you go to alot and put a shortcut to it on the desktop. Can you do that on the Thrive?
Does that make sense?

You can use the bookmarks widget that comes with Android. It displays a small window with each of your bookmarks in it. It also has an icon in the bottom right screen that allows you to pull up your browser.

The answer is yes. Just press and hold on your homescreen, when the options come up go to the more tab and select bookmark. This will allow you to choose whichever bookmark you want a shortcut to, to be placed on the home screen.

Hi, I have been playing with my Thrive, so far everything is going ok. Still looking and enjoying,

I do have a question about Calendars, I can't seem to add anything to it, it keeps asking me to open an account. I tried it and it says that account is already there.
What am I doing or not doing? any one have any ideas about it?

Haven't downloaded any games, still looking, still not sure about the permissions. What do you'll look for in the permissions and feel safe with?

A serious paranoid I am, so be forewarned. ;) I so far haven't downloaded software that wants permissions to my Contacts or access to my phone number or serial number. I also haven't downloaded software that brings ads to my tablet or phone (because ads can silently bring in malware). I admit I am more picky/careful than the majority (but my caution has definitely paid off).

The bottom line: You must decide at which point you are uncomfortable. :)

P.S. I'm not using the Google cal on my Thrive because (since users are required to sign in to their google accounts) it would link my Thrive to my iGoogle. I think all the broken links to my identity make my identity a bit safer. :) But if you are good with that, then proceed with use of google calendar. I regret that I can't help with your account issue . . . but when I attempted to register my Thrive on Toshiba's site, the same thing occurred: I registered it but it told me my serial number was already registered. So, I clicked to check on my registered devices and my Thrive wasn't listed! Whatever . . .

Thanks, I'm with you about about being parnoid about giving permissions. As it turns out, it has several games that I like, already loaded.
As far as the calendar, probably, not going to worry with the it, just was trying things to see how they worked.

Did you sign up for the trial of Kaspersky? or go with a different one, or non at all.

Thanks, for everyones help. I'm sure I will have more.
