Thunderbolt Battery Complaints + Tips/Tricks

I did read the sticky but that didn't really help the battery life much. I'm thinking about getting the extended battery. Is there a case that fits it? Or is there a battery thats not as physically big?

I have the 2750 extended (its HUGE) and I have my old leather holster case that I bought when I got my DX. The holster is the one from Verizon made for the DX. The TB w/extended battery fits into that case. The fit is snug but not overly tight. The case does add bulk and size but I like some real protection for my phones in case I drop them or something (not too heavy) falls on them etc.

I'm still not sure about the 2750 battery, I really don't like the size it adds to the TB but I'm going to try it out for a few days and then swap it out for the regular battery and see if it makes enough difference that I can overlook the physical size of the thing.

Race what are u getting usage wise with that 2750? i ordered one to come on monday.

So far I'm at 75% with 4 hours of moderate use. Wifi has been on the whole time, browsed through the threads for a while, took some pictures, few sms texts, few phone calls. Not too bad so far. Going to need a few more days of charging and using the phone to see how everything goes.

Can't wait for a root method to come out. The guys over at Unrevoked are working on it. Once I can get all the Verizon bloat off the phone, a better rom, undervolt/underclock the cpu and with the Seido 1600 battery.... everything should add up nice.

UPDATE: I'm now going on 8hrs and still have 57% battery left. Moderate-heavy usage still. So far I'm very pleased with battery life. For 4G and a 1400mah battery. This things running strong for the first day of actual use. Can't wait to root this thing.

While in general smart-phones consume much more juice than the "good old" phones, it also depends a lot on the specific unit.
For instance, my old T-Mobile G1 (the first Android phone) needed a charge after 6 hours of average use. These days I unplug my new HTC Inspire 4G (AT&T) at 6:30am and when I plug it in again at 11:00pm it's still 40% full. I would say I am an average user, with GPS, Wi-Fi, 60% screen brightness enabled.

How do u see 57%? Like the actual percentage, all i can see is the green led meter.

Considering I can't read all 27 pages, I have seen the Seidio 1600 mAh battery mentioned only a couple times in the past few pages. My battery life is just terrible all around. That's with everything off. Will the 1600 make much of a difference or would I be better off to invest in the 2750? I'd like to keep the bundle I've already purchased (case, invisible shield, car charger) so I'd prefer to get the 1600, but if the 2750 really obliterates the other two, I'd be willing to take my bundle back.

racedog you may want to check out the 1600mah battery from seidio. It gives you little more juice and but no added size. After 6 hours of moderate use, facebook, text messaging, talking, a couple of widgets..screen at 85% bright. I have 80% battery. Just remember to charge the battery before use, and leave charging 2 hours after the green light turns on (this is seidio's instructions)

Where did you get the 1600 mah battery?

Just use an airplane mode widget during times when you aren't actively able to use the phone anyways, or when you want to reduce distractions (while driving, at the gym, in meetings, focused on a project, etc.).

I turn on airplane mode every time it goes in my pocket anyways, since that sort of radio signal that close to my junk is scary.

Is this the same battery as in the Incredible?

I am trying to see if I want to jump on the band wagon and pick up the Thunderbolt. The question I have......Is the standard battery this the same battery that is in the Incredible. If so there has to be the ability to swap it out for the Siedo 1750 extended battery that I purchased for my Incr.

Anyone know?

Off lte

pray for an update that allows you to turn 4g off I guess. maybe it's something with LTE's architecture that doesn't allow for it to go off haha.

Seen this a few times. We have a widget called mobile. It shuts off the radio, check widgets

I'm using a free app that I found mentioned in another thread, the app is called "Phone Info" and downloaded it from the Market. It allows you to turn your radio from CDMA + LTE to CDMA auto PRL. It also gives you a lot of information about your phone, your battery etc.

Can anyone confirm that this phone suffers from the same problem as other htc android phones in that when taking it off the charger the phone needs to be "bump charges"?

To my knowledge this is something that has only been a problem with htc android phones just wanting to know if they fixed this before I buy it. Thanks.
