Thunderbolt Thursday Waiting Room HERE!

Anyone find out 1yr pricing yet? I know they mentioned it in that new LTE pricing document, but no stores even know what that will be.

I don't have confirmation on this but I heard the 1 year pricing was going to be something like $319.99. BMX was on that thread and said that sounded like it would be about right.

If you go an look at VZ website 1 year pricing is nearly always $70 more than 2 year pricing so as stated $319.99 as long as the phone stays $249.99 if it does go up to $299 then yeah $70 on top of that.

I'm so curious as to how this will sell. No stores seem to be opening early. The one I called said they had a decent amount in. She wasn't sure I'd they'd sell out or not.

I got my call from BBY yesterday, why do I have to make an appointment to get the phone? Is it that chaotic or something? My store doesn't open till 10am but I have to work all night. Friday for me.

I just called BB about my pre order and they said it will be there for me tomorrow. I asked how many they have in stock and they said that have not received any yet.

BMX also said he wasn't sure how they'd do it but VZW wanted to "discourage" you from using a 1yr contract.

Regardless, I find it very interesting that they aren't mentioning it. From what I remember the press releases always said what 1yr pricing would be.

It seems to vary. I think they want people to feel like they won't be rushed. My store called me and said they have their fat little fingers on my phone right now and to see if I wanted to set up an appointment. I said, do I have to? "No". Can I come in when you open at 9AM? "Yes". and that was that.

That was pretty much the way it was for me with the Verizon store. Yesterday, I set up an appointment for 11 am tomorrow, but I went into the store last night to ask some questions and the guy I was supposed to meet with said he already had an appointment at 11 am with a guy that was switching his lines over from AT&T so I said that I could probably swing by when they open since it's only down the street from my office and he said that would work since I'm just upgrading and it'll take 15 minutes.

i find BMX not really as reliable as most people hear think he contradicted himself a few times for example talking about how good of a device the Thunderbolt was then tweeting about the how the greatest trick verizon ever pulled was convincing the world the Thunderbolt existed, and then while not 100% confirmed but sure seemed extremely likely one of the reasons it took so long was working on battery life issues and BMX claimed there were zero battery life problems i think greatest trick BMX ever pulled was convincing people he's a reliable source of inside info

I was pretty much swayed into making appoint. They basically don't want you waiting around I think. That said, when I go in at my requested time... they'd better be ready to go cuz I don't wanna sit around that zoo for more than 10min.

I don't know if anyone has asked this but will swype come pre-loaded on the phone? If not how can I get it?

Well as I stated before, I believe that BMX is probably a great source for network and phone info, aside from that I don't pay attention. Like he said that we wouldn't like the data plans that would be coming out with the Thunderbolt while Bennnnn was upfront and said that at first they were going to give unlimited data and then later that they were looking at tiered data.

So it's really just all about position. I would trust BMX with phone and network news because he works on the network and since he does so he probably tests a lot of known and unknown phones. I've come to the conclusion that regarding plan info, Bennnnn is the guy to listen to.

Hey Guys,
The THUNDERBOLT will be me and my friends first droid (all converting from blackberry) with that being said we are all not looking forward to losing our beloved BBM.....what android apps would you guys suggest to replace bbm absent of just regular texting....we like to see when msg's are delivered and read and also when the other person is typing and being able to do group chats as well....any ideas?? I have heard about live profile...kik...and others...would like something without a short character limit another great part about bbm...thanks in advance

He was joking about that. Keep in mind he's the only guy who predicted St Patty's day for the Thunderbolt well ahead of everyone else.

Regardless, I hope they don't make 1yr contracts too expensive.
