I did a search or two and did not see anything I though related, so here it goes, sometimes the touch screen does not respond, it happens while playing a certain game Archipela, its the very bottom of the screen, you have to select a circle and a lot of times will not let me select it. It also happens during scrolling of some things, like the android twitter app, web sites while browsing on Dolphin browser while in landscape.... it doesnt always happen, but it happens a lot while playing that game...is it the screen, or software issues with the programs....

I experience this quite frequently, mostly with the A and backspace buttons. Putting the phone in to sleep mode with the power button sometimes fixes it, but not always.

I have experience this with a number of roms but not with the stock rom, I think its related to the patch that is being used to improve screen quality and resolution because I only noticed it on custom roms.

Negative on the screen protector....gorilla glass /alternative ftw....

I guess the problem is I don't know of this started after Mr2 update....or u are saying it doesn't really happen on stock roms

What I mean by stock is that I noticed that if I am running the original MR2 update with the screen resolution untouched I don't see the issue with screen response.. But when I install a custom rom I notice the screen doesn't respond the same.

Do you have a screen protector??? If you do, remove it.

I do have a screen protector and I really never even thought to check that out as being the nature of the issue, I will have to pull it off and try it bare for a day and see if it changes things...

I briefly experienced some strange touch screen issues after flashing the leaked MR2 RUU back in early June. The A key would rarely work in landscape mode and the entire screen would occassionaly act like a ghost was touching it. Hitting the power button to lock the screen, then unlock would stop it. It even did this after a master reset, so I began to worry that the leaked RUU had something bad in it or worse that it was a hardware issue. But, about a week later it all stopped and has never happened again. Since that time, I've flashed the official MR2 RUU and have had absolutely no problems. So, it all seemed to be software related, because if it were hardware, you'd think it would've continued. I remember reading somewhere that sometimes on some phones it can a take a bit for the software to settle in. It may have just been someone's opinion, but it seemed to jive with what I've experienced with smartphones so far. Then again, isn't Android somewhat Java based? Because from my experience with Java on computers, it can be a buggy beast. I know we all loathe it at work on the server or workstation side.

I've experienced this as well, but not with any specific app (though I did have a similar problem with Angry Birds once). I've only experienced it in the evenings after it's been used a lot. A restart should help - I restart mine every morning and never have any problems during the day.

I have had the screen freeze on me every few days since the last update. I can't figure a specific pattern of when it happens.
