Thunderbolt update

I still have not received the 605.5 update, and have done a hard reset to see if that would help and it did not. I hope this one comes to my device. No vm icon is driving me nuts!!!

I would take the phone into a corporate store and perhaps they can get it installed for you. Also since the update I had the same problem and supposedly there was a patch sent out for that. I am though now using the visual voice mail. I had it free for two months and I prefer it. well worth the price per month now.

If the corporate store can't install the update for you. have them call customer care and find out what the issue is.

I heard it's expected to roll out on the 15th. According to a Verizon guy who claimed to read it directly off of his support page. I'll believe it when I see it.

You can always download the official Gingerbread 2.11.605.5 RUU (via Android Police here: [Updated] Exclusive: Gingerbread Build 2.11.605.5 For The HTC Thunderbolt, Fixes Several Issues From Official Gingerbread OTA) and flash the phone with it using the instructions on that link. But be forewarned, RUU's wipe your phone, so back up your data BEFORE proceeding.

As to this newly reported update (2.11.605.9), I just get the "No new software update available" when checking for updates. According to a post in the other thread (see: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...orums/137853-update-coming-2.html#post1449957), sounds like it may be forthcoming around the middle of the month (Dec. 15), that is if you believe what a Verizon rep says. Typically before an update, we get some kind of leaked info about it or a newly leaked RUU. Nothing so far....

The Verizon reps I talked to knew nothing.

Does the OTA update from the OP fix the Outlook 2010 cal sync issue? Or any of the mail sync issues?

Took this from syncalwon link
Heres a summed up version of what's new in this build:

HTC Logger removed

Voicemail notification fixed

Front facing camera/Gtalk fixed

MMS/SMS Fixes

Weather syncing fixes

...and more

Just to clarify, above is for the 2.11.605.5 version. We still don't have any info on what this 2.11.605.9 fixes. :)

Yeah. Pretty sure, that's the info on the last update, not a new one.

I have to return my TB for a speaker issue, so this is probably just wishful thinking, but if I flash the RUU, since it will wipe my phone, will I still be rooted? I used Revolutionary, which changes the HBOOT file.*

*I have no idea what this means. I can follow instructions like a champ, though!

I emailed HTC and it is slowly being rolled out. Goes out in order of the ESN's.

You will still have S-Off and that what Verizon will be looking for. Your gonna have to follow the directions in the unroot method in order to restore S-On. Just by flashing the RUU will only wipe your phone but it will not restore S-On.

The good part is that it only takes a few seconds more after using RUU to get S-On, like reported just follow manual in sticky area..

I am worried - I rooted using TB Auto Root, and I got this update pushed on me (but deferred it). I did rename my system/etc/security/otacerts.zip file to otacerts.zip.bak, but it still is asking me, what do I do?
