List settings and such which will help to maximize battery life on the X. Tips on widgets, use, settings, etc. Any kind of advice would be welcomed. Also, is the phone always supposed to be burning hot?

All I can really suggest(it's obvious) is to turn off whatever features you aren't using... GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth, etc.

I've had my phone off the charger since 8AM PST and it's now 10PM... battery is at 60%. Full day of use including listening to Pandora.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I only have three screen that actually have stuff on them. The other four are blank.

Well I'm no Droid expert by any means but my battery life has improved greatly after I installed Task Manager. Make sure your brightness is set to auto. I changed my facebook to refresh every 4 hours and changed my Yahoo & Hotmail to push every 15 minutes. I connect to Wi-Fi while I'm at home. I hope this helps

I recommend staying away from Task Managers, but that's just my opinion.

Brightness being lowered to about 10% will increase battery life a whole lot.

Crazy, I took mine of its charger at 1:30PM today. It's almost 10:30PM now, and my battery is at 60%. I was feeling very good about my battery life until I read your post. :(

Don't feel bad! I charged my phone to 100%, put it in airplane mode, I ALWAYS use the minimum screen brightness, and as soon as I took it off the charger I went to bed. Woke up 8 hours later and waddya know! 70% battery life!

So congrats, you guys go full days ACTUALLY USING YOUR PHONE and you have the same battery life I get sleeping for 8 hours...

I thought I was the only one. It's ridiculous; yours more so then mine. I'll wake up anywhere between 80%-93%, depending on how long I sleep. If I don't get enough sleep (4-5 hours), I can get 90%-93%.

One thing that helps:
Turn oiff auto-brightness, it wastes a lot of battery.
Instead turn it down all the way and add the 'Power Control' widget and tap on the brightness button WHEN NEEDED.
That will save battery

Just out of curiousity, are you running any custom UI's or widgets? Or are you running straight up stock?

Because I was running LauncherPro and Lockbot, which run constantly in the background. I am uninstalling them and trying again tonight. Part of me wants to wake up and be happy when I find out that these were the culprits of my draining battery, and part of me doesn't because I really love these apps and what they do for my phone :(

I know these batteries aren't supposed to "break in", but my battery was horrible the first couple days... Now it's somehow doing very well.

I may have found the culprit. Yr.no. weather app. Since uninstalling my phone has cooled off tremendously.

Well, I killed off LauncherPro and Lockbot, along with my Beautiful Widgets, and battery life went up big time. As of right now, 6 hours off the charger and still 100% battery left. Of course that was 6 hours of sleeping lol, never actually used the thing. BUT thats better than yesterdays 8 hour sleep and 70% battery upon waking up -_-

Imo if you aren't using it, it shouldn't drain close to anything short of the battery just losing charge on its own.

So I'm gonna go ahead and take it if you don't want to kill your battery, don't run these 3 apps as they suck up that delicious battery juice.

I run Beautiful Widgets and battery is ok

Go to settings and data manager, and turn on the option to only refresh social widgets via wifi. Also if you are in a coverage area where you loose 3g often that puts a huge strain on the battery.

My battery life is similar to my Droid's. I'm still excited to buy Seidio's slim extended battery...if they release it. They never did for the Droid.

Still have terrible bat life. Still lose 10% as soon as i remove from charger.

If you haven't already, I would try running it down all the way to shut off, then charge it to full overnight. Some say you don't have to with these phones but its worth a shot.

I lost the charger that came with the phone. How do i go about getting a replacement? I need the wall plug too.

Any micro usb will do. Walmart has them for $14. I don't suggest you get the cheap ones off ebay tho.
