[TIPS] NEW - Pre-rooted 1.1.0 update/disable 1.1 auto update (and keep root)

Ok, I'm completely new to clockwork. Is there a guide on how to use it? Any tips? Should I back anything up before installing something like this pre-rooted update? How about before an overclock kernel? Or a custom rom?

Wow! VERY cooool. Not only does this work like a charm, I noticed three things right off the bat:

1. The new Android Market came up.??? OK, love it!
2. Yes, pinch zoom works in the default Android browser, but...
3. It now also works in Dolphin HD browser (it didn't before)

Thanks!

After the 1.1.0 update, my 1.1Gh overclock rom went away. Can I reflash the overclock rom with this new pre-rooted 1.1.0 update? Thanks guys.

Also pease note: barnes and noble hides your kindle app in this 1.1!!!!! Ha ha! What config file wuuld do that? I know it's still there, because I uninstalled and reinstalled it.

Alright, i installed the 1.1 update and now I can't change my LCD density with LCDDensity now. I can select a density to go to but the Apply(restart) button does not restart the nook or change the density. Any ideas?

You can always do it manually, via the build.prop method detailed in the stickied tips thread.

did the 1.1.0 update and found a nice side benefit is the last read button works now with different launchers

It Works

Flashed new zip per instructions in update of first post. Worked like a breeze. Everything I've tested so far works, except YouTube. And, it seems to be a little faster in loading web pages.

Are there any apps you would like to have tested in the next hour or so? I do not have an overclock rom installed.

Thanks to Will and all others who made this possible.

** Now that it looks like this update and root work together well I'm thinking about doing a new CMR backup so I can restore to this condition in case anything unexpected happens - like B&N pushing the update to my Nook. I know that's not supposed to happen, but it did when B&N pushed 1.0.1 onto my rooted 1.0.1. causing it to unroot.

youtube seems to work for me. haven't tried anything else so far except the 1.1 ghz overclock.

maybe you should try to backup youtube with astro or titanium backup then reinstall it. this worked for some of us when e had the same problem after rooting 1.0.1

hi guys, i just completed this rooted update and everthing works fine excepte my sirius xm app, just logs in and says updating and thats it, tried reinstalling and restarting the nook. i listen to this alot and could use some help, any ideas. thanks

Did anyone else loose the Adhoc wifi fix when they used this update? I can't see my wireless tether from my phone anymore. Is it safe to do the adb wifi fix that worked on 1.0.1 with 1.1 still?

Based upon sbosak's experience, I installed 4.3.

I would like to second that the 1.1.0 version 'fixes' the Dolphin HD v4.3 pinch to zoom on the Nook Color. Under 1.0.1 I had upgraded the Dolphin from 4.2 to 4.3 and lost the pinch function. I had to revert to 4.2. But my HD is back to 4.3.

You Tube, however, just restarts my ADW Launcher home screen.

After using your method in step 4 or 5 the ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.5
says E:failed to mount /recovery (No such file or directory)Can't mount /sdcard even though its installed in my rooted Nook Color, any idea's?

Did you try mounting sdcard? It's under mounts/partitions. Someone else suggested unmounting/remounting a couple times if it still isn't working.
