order online on VZW on the 15th....save the $100 and get the phone on the 16th?

or

go to your local VZW store and pick up the phone on the 15th, and mail in the $100 rebate...and hope to get your check in about 6 weeks?

I'm still debating on what to do. I just really hate mail in rebates.....mainly becuase I forget to mail them in. although, it's always fun to get a surprise check in the mail!!

the sensible side of me says to by it online. the gadget geek side of me is telling me to show up at the vzw store at 8am and spend all day long with a huge grin on my face playing with my first android phone. I don't know if I'm happier about picking up a great phone or if it's really about ditching the Storm 1?????

You can have VZW or whoever the company is that sends the rebate transfer the rebate from your card to your bank account. But, in order to do that, YOU MUST NOT DO ANYTHING WITH THE CARD FIRST. Don't attempt to make a purchase or anything. The moment you do anything with it, you can no longer transfer the money. So when the card comes, log on to the website that they tell you to and request a transfer of the $100 to your bank account.

In store purchases get the mail-in. And if you are using an annual upgrade, you'll pay an extra $20 in store. Only online and Best Buy are instant rebates. Best Buy doesn't do annuals either.

My thoughts are always assume the worst. Call up customer service at midnight and sign on the site at the same time. If the website is swamped, try ordering it over the phone.

If I can get it online at midnight (or sometime around that time) I will do that route. If not, I will be heading down to the store. I've tried calling my local store 3 times today and can't even get a rep on the phone. It transfers my call to a call center because the reps are busy. That has me scared.

It's just an early upgrade fee for using the Annual Upgrade. Can't get around it in-store, over the phone, or online.
