You do realize that 100k people a day are receiving it according to 'sources'? The first day they do a hard rollout on only 10k people to make sure there are no complaints about broken phones and to see how the servers handle the load. And out of the 150 5-10 have claimed they gotten it.

So lets play with number, assuming the ration of people to updates from this site alone can scale to Verizon how many people possibly have the update?

Well 150 / 5 = 30% of people have gotten it in this thread. If 30% scales to Verizon network and we take our 'sources' numbers earnestly then:

110k = 30% of Verizon Incredibles. So how many total Inc are out there?!

(110,000 * 100) / 30 = ~ 366,667 Incs by my the numbers estimate. AND only a couple hundred of those people are posting here. Going by the hard numbers 8/28 - 9/2 starting 1st day at 10k then every day past till the 2nd doing 100k Verizon is kind of claiming 410k total phones on the network....well I think the numbers are close enough.

And you do understand that the internet android board users with Incredibles numbers in the hundreds here. Sometime I wish Verizon wouldn't announce anything and just start updating so the 'conspiracy theorist' out there wouldn't go bonkers. (sources?) apparently you are a fierce VZW defender... it's fine, but the true is "Froyo is missing in the whole World Wide Web", doesn't even exist a Zip.update file if what you claim were true a lot of people already could have it! facts make the things real.

Something to ponder but I wonder really how many people have DIncs..... I was being bored like I have been for the past 2.5 days. Verizon has 86.6 million subscribers "wikipedia" and I realize that alot of these people are normal users that just have a basic phone and dont know anything about the smartphone world, but then you have all the high school kids and college kids and people who like myself like to have the newest fastest thing out that I can get my hands on. 366+k seems almost a little on the light side, dont ya think?

Just trying to stir up a little casual conversation to keep everybody off edge.

My sources are supposedly the Verizon 'sources' this board has. They claim 10k users the first day and 100k a day till the 2nd. I guess you are a conspiracry guy, I tend to trust people on these things especially when there have a been a number of people report they've gotten the update along with pictures of their phones doing it etc etc. Then you're attack back is I'm a VZW defender? Thanks but people like that will never get it. Then when the day comes his phone says "You've got a system update available", he says HOLY CRAP ITS HERE, and we never hear a "Oh yeah I was stupid about this whole thing, I got my update, guess it was true!".....done feeding the trolls now.

Well the numbers could be WAAAYYYY off which makes my point that much more valid considering how many people we actually see here that have them!!! I'm sure that number isn't right now that I start looking at articles about the Droid. Last I heard the Inc had taken the #2 spot for highest all time selling Android phone right behind the Droid. The droid sold 250,000 phones the first day it was sold. I assume we did at least that.....so who knows there could be a couple million of these things floating around!!

which is still a very small amount upgraded. So a little impatience is justifiable.

Your numbers are way off here. If 5 out of 150 people have the update, that is 3% not 30%.150/5 is not how you figure out a percentage.5/150= .0333 move the decimal place over two spots.3.3% of people on this forum have gotten the update, which is pretty close to the number (2%) that he had.

They very well could be I just thought I would through it out there for discussion to kinda calm things down a little I dont see it matters if some think it not coming and who has gotten and who hasnt. We aren't talking about impatience. We are talking about how moronic it is to definably say it's not happening just because you haven't gotten the update. We have 5% or more of the users here with an update 1.5 days into it I may add. My numbers being WAAAAAYYYYY makes this even more to the point, we make up less than 1% of 2.2 Million phones!!!!(That number does sound much better too)

Thanks for the math lesson. It's already been covered, in Elementary School, High School, College, and now the forums. I get it I misquoted in my hurry to spit out an answer between everything I have going on this morning. The point isn't exact numbers, just to show a justifiable reasoning behind the ineptitude of thinking some of our forum associates are using.
