It does however have more substantiating evidence than the 18th rumor.

I got sick of it on the 18th. Rooted, backed up apps, flashed 2.05 radio, rooted, loaded Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense. Had I not dallied would have taken less than an hour. Nothing is permanent. As is it took me 6 hrs... I read everything 3-4 times before doing it. It may not be for everybody, and thats why I chose not to install the 2.15 radio.

Just rooted with UnRevoked and then installed Sky Raider 2.5.2. It is pretty cool, faster. However I am having issues with Flash 10.1. It isn't on the ROM and I cannot download it from the Android Market (not there) with App Brain I get an error.

Yeah, I ran into the same thing. Haven't done the research yet to figure out how to get it on the Dinc either.

If you used SkyRaider check your SD card for a folder named skyraider. It should have the flash installer in it.

That's what unrevoked pplz are saying, no way to know until it comes out. If it doesnt update, someone will dump the OS and make a Rom, if root is lost they'll find another way. That's the whole point of open source. Just gotta be patient.

I was rooted for a while then unrooted because I thought the froyo update will be coming soon. I am sick of the rumors so I rooted again updated the radio and now using sky raider 2.5.2 and never looking back.

What Froyo are you running? I guess you didn't see the tripling of benchmark scores, the smoothness of the UI, the phone not slowing down when it is installing a new app while you are doing something. Nah it doesn't do anything new, just chrome to phone, 3G mobile hotspot, Apps2SD etc. Nah Froyo has nothing to offer......

All I'm saying is Froyo isn't the god of all android OS. Really I wouldn't let the fact that is isn't out yet keep me up all night. Thats all I was really trying to get across. Who really cares if it triples the benchmarks? Sure I get 46mflops in linpack...what good does that do me? The phone isn't 3 times faster loading anything or playing games. Phone never did lag or slow down when installing apps before and it doesn't now either. Sure its nice to be able to have automatic updating and stuff like that. As far as 3g mobile hot spot i'm rooted using wifi tether so i dont have to pay the 20$ you will when you use the included app in the OTA. Apps2sd? only 3 out of countless apps on my phone even support being moved to sd anyways. 720p? really its just a marketing thing. The 720P doesn't look any better than the 480p. Yes it comes with a flash light, very cool. Guess what...Got that with root too. Yes froyo is cool but really it isn't the game changer its made out to be. Using the leak from 8/1 and skyraider 2.5.2

Defensive? I care about tripling benchmark scores. Does it represent real world performance increase? Of course not. Does it mean there is an increase. Yes! If your phone isn't faster loading games etc on Froyo then you must be using a crappy SD card. Of course it isn't going to load the weather channel app any faster but games that are data intensive load A LOT faster on Froyo.

You attack on the 3G mobile hotspot is hilarious. Do you honestly think that root users using an Incredible make up the vast majority of users? Nah...Now as far as Apps2SD that shows how much research you have done. Simple command you can enter that allows you to move ANY app to and from the SD card. Read up it's handy....720 vs 480 recording is a big difference. Well 720 vs 480, almost twice the resolution.

So if it isn't such a major game changer in your opinion why are you running it? You do realize you can enjoy 480 recording, WiFi tethering, Flash light apps etc with 2.1 right? Must be doing something or you wouldn't be running it.....some people just don't get it. Froyo is a HUGE game changer even if you only look at the dalvik compiler. Obviously you haven't done your research. This is merely a stepping stone for future devices.......

Is it 4 million percent better than 2.1. No. Will most average phone users with a handful of apps see the difference? No. Will it make your life 110% better. No. Does it perform better, give you options you were looking for (copy paste in Gmail is one), does it allow you to open your phone up to more intensive apps, will it change the world....opps not that one, yes! So quit pissing on the parade there is a reason people want it. There is a reason behind the hype even if most people, yourself included, don't understand why. Froyo is better than Eclair, that's the bottom line......
