Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

So how exactly can I tell if my phone is ready to download 2.2? Dumb question I know...

You go to Menu-Settings-About Phone-System Updates...and keep doing that until it shows up...

J/K

You will get a notification telling you an update is available for your phone....

A notification should come up as well as a box. If you don't press update don't worry because it will pop up every 30 mins
(This is what I've heard. I haven't gotten my update yet)

sadly...i know i'll get a notification, yet i still check the settings menu multiple times a day.

Even though tomorrow is the weekend, will they still send out updates or do we have to wait for Monday?

Knowing vzw they wont work on the weekend :p (Probably be Monday)

on the update notification yeah you will get an notification every 30 minutes til you install it . But really whos gunno wait 30 minutes til they install it , lol :D

I'm gonna call Verizon in a few nd ask if they are gonna work on the weekend

So they are releasing it today, stopping at some point, then restarting on monday???? That makes no sense! Why even start the rollout if everyone isn't getting it?!

I've had the incredible since release day. Coming from the iPhone 3gs I've been a little disappointed with the incredible and the problems I've had with all 5 Dinc's. Hopefully froyo will improve my phone and help me forget about the iPhone.

I'm in Florida, no update yet.

re: Has anyone received the rumored 8/27 OTA Froyo update?

better than no update at all if you ask me.

Sorry to disappoint, but Froyo 2.2 looks just like 2.1, with a few updates (the version is only going up .1, so its minor). I ran the RUU last night. I mean yes, you get the new JVM which is "400%" faster, but to me, it only seems faster in benchmarks. All my other programs load and run the same. Don't get me wrong, the new features are cool (app2SD, new gmail, new msg app, new widgets, etc.), but this isn't going to be like going from Windows 95 to Windows 7. More like Windows 7 to Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

I'm on my 3rd Incredible...so I know what it's like when the phone doesn't work how you want it. But just be glad you can download the Nosecandy app (got blocked on iTunes app store)!

So far what is it you like about the iphone over the Dinc? Or is it just because you have had to replace it four times?

re: Has anyone received the rumored 8/27 OTA Froyo update?

Arizona's Froyo update is now held up in court.....seems the Obama administration thinks this OTA will not be fairly distributed between those who bought their phones and those who obtained the phone illegally...lol
That was great!! Thanks...

well, att network is crap#1, but the iphone was smooth and flawless and never had any issues with it. withe the Dinc, its a weekly and sometimes daily struggle, although the 5th one seems to be doing quite well. I had vzw prior the the iphone and never, EVER, had a dropped call. with the Dinc i have had the same amount of dropped calls as i did with att. And that is my only current problem with the Dinc, reception, dropped calls and call quality

Well this is a first...someone praising an iPhone for good reception and fewer dropped calls! Steve Jobs might have a job for you in his PR department to quell those pesky iPhone 4 left-handed-dropped-call rumors, whatever they are.

All kidding aside, your problem doesn't seem to be one that is common to all Incredibles. But at least Verizon is willing to send you so many replacements.

Oh great, a/p the Verizon site, the Dinc Froyo will bring new and improved CityID...I wanted to see that we could totally abolish the darned thing.
