Longtime reader, first time poster here at Android Central. My wife just got the HTC One and it's both gorgeous and functional. It seems like HTC really hit the nail on the head with the aluminum body and front facing stereo speakers. The device's build quality is so good that I've decided next upgrade cycle I'm switching from the CrackBerry camp to AC. This made me think about how after the MacBook Pros started coming out all in aluminum, suddenly a lot of metal ultrabooks appeared for the Windows market. Do you think that the HTC One will spawn a similar trend? So that when I get a new phone in the next 8-9 months I'd have more options than just the One if I wanted a metal phone.

Yes I think this will happen depending on the sales of the one. I read an article after the one was released that Samsung is at leat thinking of making their phones out of higher quality material because of the one. Sony is coming out with a phone that all metal design, Nokia is also coming out with a metal phone and Motorola rumored x phone is also supposed to be metal. A big reason I liked apple for their phones was because of how good they felt and looked. Now that the one is out, and more are going to follow, I'm going to be so happy when I get to upgrade and have both andriod and a sexy phone. For me, the hardware they are putting in the phones right now are so fast, that its going to come down to looks.
