Today's software update

Gotcha, thanks. I am on At&t, but several verizon stores have stock in my area, but if you can't get the updates, guess I should just wait for mine from google.
There should not be any issue getting updates. Right now it appears that update was VZW SIM'd devices only.. I have not seen a single person without a VZW SIM say they got the update..

You can get the updates but you need verizon sim.
Not entirely true.. The 63P update looks that way right now but that might be because it was targeted at VZW only or Google simply has not released it to the other devices yet..

I'd wait and see before I put a VZW SIM in and do the update..

Okay, after reading the forum and checking my Google Store Pixel(purchased for Fi), the 63L(which I have) is for non-Verizon devices, the 63N was the original Verizon firmware, and the 63P is the new Verizon firmware. This feels a little like the Nexus 6 T-Mobile things of different firmware. The 63P, as far as I can tell after sifting through articles and replies, was to add/activate the Google Wifi Assistant on Verizon phones, as those direct from Google(like mine) already had it installed and activated.

It's weird.. I'm on 63N and have wifi assistant...

Did some research
You can date your build, by below (probably most will say 1 Sept
Android Build Number Date Calculator

explanation of what build means, is below (old example).

The first letter is the code name of the release family, e.g. F is Froyo.

The second letter is a branch code that allows Google to identify the exact code branch that the build was made from, and R is by convention the primary release branch.

The next letter and two digits are a date code. The letter counts quarters, with A being Q1 2009. Therefore, F is Q2 2010. The two digits count days within the quarter, so F85 is June 24 2010.

Finally, the last letter identifies individual versions related to the same date code, sequentially starting with A; A is actually implicit and usually omitted for brevity.
