This makes absolutely no sense

It doesn't, but I think he is saying, "is it just a coincidence that VM, who never updates their phones, sends and update days before the throttle day?"

So...does this mean if you don't update, you don't get throttled?

Haha I know, I've been awake all of 3 minutes and forgot that step. They are indeed there.

These are the files when opened up.... they are just numbers. Can anyone tell what they mean?

I doubt anyone will be able to decipher them, but I'm not worried about it. Like I said, personally, I'm 100% okay with the throttling anyway.

These files were found about a year ago in the early days of ROM development. If I remember right there was a thread about it on AndroidCentral by either mmarzz or mmark1111. Maybe Leslieann remembers this, it was around the time she was developing Aphrodite. I'll try to find the thread and provide a link.

If that's true, why is it that they came back after yesterday?

It could be that they generate themselves after first reboot or something and you just always missed them because you flash so often... I'm assuming that you don't check to see if they are there everyday.

They were there a long time ago. Mmarz was talking about a a way to make a script to delete them on every reboot if throttling ever became an issue. Out of curiosity someone should do a speed test with them, then delete them and do another speed test
