Am I going to think the Fold 4 is too big for causal shorts or for just too long around on the weekends?

It's a lot smaller in height and width compared to s22U and with a flip case
It's a lot smaller in width compared to most device out there .

My Pixel6 is a heavy ish phone and fits in my shorts comfortably. You should have no problem.

You have bulk with most flagship phones. It's either thicker or wider. Pick your poison IMO.

Edit..if you can fot a note or S22U in your pocket, you will be able to fit a fold in your pocket.

I wouldn't think it's a problem but I remember when people called the old Note phones and "phablets" too big for pockets yet most of us use phones bigger than those today.

You probably need to assess your reasons for wanting this type of device. It's a large device in about as compact of a form they can get it into given today's technology. If how this might feel in the pocket is a huge factor for you then maybe look at the flip or regular style devices for best pocket/shorts comfort.

Correct. Stay away from phones that have ultra or plus in the name.

They might want to look at the flip 4 more

You'll need to think differently owning this device. I've never pocket mine, its either in my hand or put away safe during travel.

I could never carry my Z Fold 3 in my pants pockets because it was too thick and I was afraid I'd break it. This is one of the reasons why I'm not preordering the Z Fold 4 this year, that, plus I will be able to get it for 50% off (without a trade in) in a few months anyways.

People really think this phone is fragile. Folded up it's just as good as the S22U and notes. I carry mine in my pocket all the time, put it on the dash of a yard jockey truck, it's fallen on the concrete. The inside screen of course needs more caution, but who's carrying this phone in their pockets with it open? That would be bulky then.

Use the phone like other phones, it'll be ok

The only thing I have decided is that I don't want to throw it around the gym floor when working out.... :-) I am buying a cheap wifi only android phone which I'll use for music and forwarded calls from Skype.

Other than that, we shall see how it goes.

The cheapest the fold 3 ever went was $1000 on prime day. You won’t see the fold 4 50 percent off ever. Plus with the current deals the fold 4 is coming out to be $1300 with Watch, case and buds.

Looks like best buy was doing it thru T-Mobile. I don't know if a trade in was required though, probably was. Most carriers do it in 24 and 36 monthly credits, which is basically a contract.

Edit.. Link didn't work, shared image
