too many pattern attempts

My daughter got a galaxy tab 3 7" for Christmas and has some how forgotten the pattern to unlock it. It now is asking to sign in with her Google account but its coming up 'invalid'!!! Have been to Google.co.uk/accounts/recovery but can't seem to get anywhere. Can somebody help please!!!!!!!
