Totally doubt this will happen but

The Rezound is clearly a better phone. Only thing missing is the kickstand. Essentially everything else is an improvement.

With that said, I do like my Thunderbolt, minus some of the bugs like occasional data drops and not receiving texts.

Yeah, I'm not disputing that.

There are a lot of factors that go into overall performance and also into overall perception of performance (i.e. snappy video). Dual core alone or raising memory from 768M to 1000M alone will not normally see a lot of improvement. Not even close to what you might expect from the mathmatical difference (i.e. ~30 percent more RAM and 100 percent more "cores", in this case).

But if you combine it with other factors, like possibly an improved graphics processor unit and less software overhead (like no Sense), you'll probably note improvements in overall performance. Or perceptions of performance. Either way it still counts.

There comes a point, IMHO, where benchmak scores and other "specs" just don't matter to me. Not as long as I am happy with my current performance. It's a little like producing digital sound up into the 30khz range, when the human ear is usually limited to 20khz. Mine are much worse :)

The Rezound is noticeably faster than the Thunderbolt. IMO, speed alone isn't worth the upgrade though. The Thunderbolt was fast enough for me. The biggest advantages to me of the Rezound are the HD display, small text is crisp compared to the Thunderbolt which has somewhat fuzzy small text. I do like to read very small text and fuzzy text really bothers me. The other thing is the radio is better. Speeds are faster, I've seen near 50mbps on the Rezound, in the same areas, I have only seen about half that max speed on my Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt drops and has no data more frequent than the Rezound, not as bad as mr1 days and still acceptable for 4G. My friend just got a Thunderbolt, she would have data drops (I remember twice within just a few hour period) and my Rezound had solid 4G data during that time. I ended up just installing the Restart Connections app for her and told her to press it whenever she had a data drop.

The Rezound is clearly a better phone. Only thing missing is the kickstand. Essentially everything else is an improvement.

I have a kickstand built into the case, I actually prefer it that way, if the kickstand gets busted, I can just buy a new case. But I can understand that it's nice to have a kickstand if you wish to go bareback.

Yeah, like the data drops in this Rezound thread :). None of the 4G phones are immune to data drops.

Yes, the Rezound still has data drops. But, in my experience, less frequently than the Thunderbolt. The 3G-4G switching seems to be better on the Rezound (it almost never gets "stuck"). I almost never have to use the Restart Connections app on my Rezound, but had to use it occasionally on my Thunderbolt.
