Touch Screen Problems

I am having touch screen problems while gaming on my galaxy nexus. When I am playing GTA III or any other game that requires you to use two touch points at the same time, I sometimes get a problem where the screen only detects one figer at a time. I reboot the game and it is fixed but this problem is getting very tedious. Is this a software issue that is going to be fixed in future updates or is this a permanent hardware problem?

I noticed that when playing MK2, I had to pick up one finger to get the other one to register the move. It's like playing a baby keyboard, one note at a time.

This seems to be a multitouch bug I've noticed while playing games. I notice if you turn the screen off and then back on it seems to go away temporarily. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. Seems like a software problem to me.
