Touchscreen Not Working Properly?

I just got myself a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and I've noticed that the bottom part of the screen is not very responsive. I have to tap on an app or on screen menu several times to get it to work. Is this normal?

Nope it's not normal. The touch response should not vary depending on where you touch.

If this was my situation I'd return it for a Direct new replacement if turning the phone Off and On didn't rectify the issue.

It shouldn't at this early stage need Factory Reset etc.

Unfortunately sometimes with technology and hardware we get what's known as a lemon.

Is your phone still within its warranty period? As others suggested, I recommend returning it for another model.
